Hello dear friends. I wanted to give you an update on my two dear friends from church who fell a couple of weeks ago. One had shoulder surgery on Tuesday. The surgeon was able to place a plate and screws in instead of having a complete shoulder replacement. He felt that would be easier for her. The other friend had surgery on her elbow today. The surgeon placed in synthetic material to act as her tendons which broke from the fall and he screwed her elbow in place, it was out again on Wednesday for her follow up. Tonight, both are with their families, recovering. I am thankful that they both came through their surgeries. Today Mike and I went to a funeral receiving for a grandmother of some friends from church. Afterwards we decided we would take a ride. We had a good time until the car began to make a loud noise. I was looking at the dash to see if any warning lights came on. Nothing. I was looking for smoke in front and behind. Nothing. I was getting panicky. Mike said put your 4-way flashers on and slow down, he thought a tire went flat. Where were we, we knew that there was a tire shop just around the corner. But panicky Dena was still freaked out having to drive, even a short distance. I didn't want to mess up our rim. We pulled in, they were busy. They couldn't repair the tire which I didn't even think about, I wanted it replaced. They didn't have a new tire that fit our car but had a used one which they showed us before putting it on. It looked new to us. Within a half hour, we were back on our way. I am thankful because we were coming off the interstate when the tire went flat. We were going towards where we could get it fixed. I have an extremely levelheaded and calm husband who doesn't panic, like I do. And the replacement tire was way cheaper than either of us was expecting it to be. I thank God for His protection and provision.
