Day 178 – Separate
Deuteronomy 12:1 “These are the statutes and judgments which you will be careful to observe in the land which JEHOVAH Elohiym of your fathers gives you to possess, every day you live on the earth. 2 You will destroy every place where the nations you will dispossess served their elohiym, on the high mountains and on the hills and under every green tree. 3 You will destroy their altars, break their sacred pillars, and burn their wooden images with fire; you will cut down the carved images of their elohiym and destroy their names from that place. 4 You will not worship JEHOVAH your Elohiym with such things.
5 “You will seek the place where JEHOVAH your Elohiym chooses, out of your tribes, to put His name for His dwelling place; and there you will go. 6 There you will take your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, the heave offerings of your hand, your vowed offerings, your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks. 7 There you will eat before JEHOVAH your Elohiym, and you will rejoice in everything you put your hand, you and your households, in which JEHOVAH your Elohiym blessed you.
8 “You will not do as we are doing here today—every man doing whatever is right in his own eyes— 9 for you did not come to the rest and the inheritance which JEHOVAH your Elohiym gives you. 10 When you cross over the Jordan and dwell in the land JEHOVAH your Elohiym gives you to inherit, and He gives you rest from your enemies round about, so that you dwell in safety, 11 then there will be the place where JEHOVAH your Elohiym chooses to make His name abide. There you will bring everything I command you: your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, the heave offerings of your hand, and your choice offerings which you vow to JEHOVAH. 12 You will rejoice before JEHOVAH your Elohiym, you and your sons and your daughters, your male and female servants, and the Levite within your gates, since he has no portion nor inheritance with you. 13 Take heed to yourself that you do not offer your burnt offerings in every place you see; 14 but in the place which JEHOVAH chooses, in one of your tribes, there you will offer your burnt offerings, and there you will do everything I command you.
15 “However, you may slaughter and eat meat within your gates, whatever your heart desires, according to the blessing of JEHOVAH your Elohiym which He gave you; the unclean and the clean may eat of it, of the gazelle and the deer alike. 16 Only you will not eat the blood; you will pour it on the earth like water. 17 You may not eat within your gates the tithe of your grain or your new wine or your oil, of the firstborn of your herd or your flock, of any of your offerings which you vow, of your freewill offerings, or of the heave offering of your hand. 18 You must eat them before JEHOVAH your Elohiym in the place JEHOVAH your Elohiym chooses; you and your son and your daughter, your male and female servant, and the Levite within your gates; and you will rejoice before JEHOVAH your Elohiym in everything you put your hands.
19 “Take heed to yourself that you do not forsake the Levite as long as you live in your land. 20 When JEHOVAH your Elohiym enlarges your border as He promised you, and you say, ‘Let me eat meat,’ because you long to eat meat, you may eat as much meat as your heart desires.
21 “If the place where JEHOVAH your Elohiym chooses to put His name is too far from you, then you may slaughter from your herd and from your flock which JEHOVAH gave you, just as I commanded you, and you may eat within your gates as much as your heart desires. 22 Just as the gazelle and the deer are eaten, so you may eat them; the unclean and the clean alike may eat them. 23 Only be sure you do not eat the blood, for the blood is the life; you may not eat the life with the meat. 24 You will not eat it; you will pour it on the earth like water. 25 You will not eat it, that it may go well with you and your children after you, when you do what is right in the sight of JEHOVAH.
26 “Only the holy things which you have, and your vowed offerings, you will take and go to the place which JEHOVAH chooses. 27 You will offer your burnt offerings, the meat and the blood, on the altar of JEHOVAH your Elohiym; and the blood of your sacrifices will be poured out on the altar of JEHOVAH your Elohiym, and you will eat the meat.
28 “Observe and obey every word I command you, that it may go well with you and your children after you forever, when you do what is good and right in the sight of JEHOVAH your Elohiym. 29 When JEHOVAH your Elohiym cuts off from before you the nations which you go to dispossess, and you displace them and dwell in their land, 30 take heed to yourself that you are not ensnared to follow them, after you destroy them, and you do not inquire after their elohiym, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their elohiym? I also will do likewise.’ 31 You will not worship JEHOVAH your Elohiym in that way; for every abomination to JEHOVAH which He hates they did to their elohiym; for they burn their sons and daughters in the fire to their elohiym. 32 Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you will not add to it nor take away from it.
God’s names:
JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
Elohiym – Supreme God
Yeshuwa – Jesus
Theos – Supreme Divinity
Pneuma – Breath, Holy Spirit
Kurios – Supreme Authority
God’s character:
Holy
The world today tolerates every religion and calls it good and acceptable. Nobody wants to cause trouble but goes along with the flow, so no one will hurt or kill them for speaking out against what they know is wrong.
JEHOVAH knew what the people of the land were like and told the people they were to destroy them because they did every form of evil in His sight. He wanted His people to be pure and holy, to separate themselves from evil and worship Him alone. Moses told the people JEHOVAH’S requirements for taking the land. He also told them what Elohiym required in the sacrifices they made to Him and where they were to make their sacrifice, whether they took them to the place He would name as His, or if they could eat within their gates. When the people obeyed JEHOVAH, He would bless them.
When you accepted Yeshuwa, JEHOVAH’S Son as Savior and Lord, you committed to follow Him in everything He told you. You are not to tolerate sin but separate yourself from those who sin against everything Elohiym said is evil. Tolerance is a sin because it keeps you from JEHOVAH. Tolerance says it’s okay to become friends with the world.
James 4:1 Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members?
2 You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.
3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.
4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Did you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with Theos? Whoever, therefore, wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of Theos.
5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Pneuma who dwells in us yearns jealously”?
6 He gives more grace. Therefore, He says: “Theos resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
7 Therefore submit to Theos. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
8 Draw near to Theos and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
9 Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of Kurios, and He will lift you up.
You don’t want to be an enemy to Elohiym. Resist evil. Flee tolerance and JEHOVAH will bless you.
Let’s pray: Father, every day I see people turn away from You in the name of tolerance. Help me seek You, resist evil and see Your blessings in my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Yes, it's important. The Old Testament points to Jesus and the cross. If you only read the New Testament, you only have half the story. Have a blessed day.
