And the betting site wouldn't accept my card

I was scrolling some Facebook and I saw a post about the Euro Cup final. I have a strong feeling about what team is going to win and I felt brave enough to bet. I'm usually right when I feel like Italy is going to win something. It goes beyond cheering for your team, in fact vibes were somehow different this time. This time it is not Italy but maybe I'm still lucky? I did very little research and found a legit site, thought twice before signing up as they rightfully ask for sensitive info. Eventually I registered and I was ready to pour €10 into that thing. I proceeded to the payment and, as written in the title, the betting site wouldn't accept my card. I thought I could try PayPal except the minimum deposit was way above my budget. Oh, I logged in again and they asked for ID proof. They said they were going to do that, fine. Well, I don't think it has anything to do with the fact they don't fancy my card, but still. This wasn't the first time I wanted to bet on sports, it was just the first time I actually went out of my way to make it happen. I'm too late I guess. Who knows, maybe I saved $10. Meanwhile I did some more little research as it made little sense to see the option for a draw in a straight match where you either win or lose. Whoa, sports betting is so intricate. I just wanted to tell you the team I think will hold the cup, not give you the details of what happens before. If you win through penalty kicks you still win, what's this mess? And of course, people come up with tons of strategies. It'll be fun to study all that stuff if I get the time. Yet I'm just afraid it will spoil the magic of blindly following my guts. I have never bet on anything before, but it becomes a real focus for a lot of people. I figure I’d never win no matter what anyway.

@AmbiePam I'm slighly more confident as my intuition has been accurate before, so I felt like wasting another opportunity. And I don't think I'm prone to become addicted but I'm not too sure I want to find out either.

The odds on a two horse race are never good, unless there is a rank outsider and they win. Spain were the odds on favourites, so you wouldn’t have won much more than you put on. Was your crystal ball telling you Spain, or were you somehow wanting England to win? Of course I watched the match and we came up short as usual. Spain were the best team throughout the tournament, so I’m not too disappointed.

@sabtraversa Are you telling me you nearly bet on England winning? Good job you didn’t if that was the case. You’ll have to get your crystal ball out earlier next time as the odds are usually better at the start of the tournament. I don’t know what they were exactly, but I do know England were the favourites. I didn’t place a bet, but I do keep an eye on such things. Thanks for the hugs.

@Orson_Kart True, then I would have been luckier in all the other matches, except I'm not too sure about draws. Never had strong feelings towards draws. And I would have bet against Italy too this year.

@Orson_Kart Spain was above 2 when I checked, not bad actually. But I would have lost €10 if the deposit went through. I think the failed deposit was divine intervention like a bullet that hits your right ear. Or a bit less dramatic than that perhaps. England was lucky to get to the final, so I thought they could be even more lucky. Glad you are not too disappointed. My crystal ball needs some cleaning now, I'll be back later.

I tried placing a bet on one of the sites we have here in the US and it was a real pain in the butt. I won a few dollars and then couldn't get the money out. It was a big waste of time

@snowy22315 Yeah, I bet withdrawing would be even harder than depositing! Then I guess taxes are also involved so they might ask for that kind of documents. Sorry you couldn't get the money out. At least you got to experience something different.

Gambling as far as me..I might buy a 2 dollar lotto ticket or now and again a 1 dollar scratch. I hope you become filthy rich.

@RebeccasFarm You got a very healthy relationship with gambling. I still got plenty to figure out and I take that "don't gamble more than what you can afford to lose" rule very seriously so unfortunately I won't make a living off of that.

@psanasangma Thanks! I'm afraid I'm not good at that either, I'll have to run more tests to see if my clairvoyant skills are on point. Meanwhile I gotta make sure they receive all the documents they need or I won't be able to withdraw in the future.

@jstory07 Does Amazon accept PayPal over there? 'Cause I think they don't here. This betting site accepts PayPal but they ask for a larger deposit compared to other processors, they probably need to cover up the fees.
