I managed with a mug of water

We never have shortage of water as we have a well that provides us with enough and more. But this morning our taps went dry as we forgot to fill the tank. To add to that misery there was no current I had to brush my teeth and for that I always use loads of water with the tap running - may be 50 mugs. But today I collected a mug of water from drops drippping from the tap and managed to brush my teeth. Moral of the story. One does not need loads of water if only one is sensible to use just enough. https://dir.indiamart.com/impcat/plastic-mugs.html Image credit:

(lol) Not really. It was the need of the hour. As I have written in my post the conditions were such that I had to.

That sounds like quite a morning! It's impressive how resourceful you were in using water efficiently, especially in a pinch like that. It's a good reminder of how important it is to be mindful of our water usage every day.

@allknowing That's a common challenge! It's easy to be mindful of water use when it's limited, but when there's plenty, it can be tempting to use more than necessary.

I can cut down a bit without effort but when there is plenty there is this tendency to waste.

Having grown up on a farm where water was very precious, I never leave the tap running. Old habits die hard.

Conserving water is an important activity given today's climate change and heatwave problems. I too manage my brushing with a mug of water . I do turn off the knob of the shower while applying soap to conserve water. The principle has been use water when it has to be and to be fully utilized. Also , we do face water problems like you and well . Thanks for sharing!

We have no water problem as we have a well that provides us with enough and more water. It is only on that day when we forgot to fill our water tank and at the same time the current went off that we had that problem only for a few hours. Since we have enough water there is the tendency to use more than is required.

There is a saying : "When push come to shove". Meaning - there may be a time when you will have to make do with very little or there may be a time when you will have to resort to drastic actions.

When there is plenty we tend to use more than our needs.
