Dosa is my favourite breakfast item. It is easy to make . Just soak rice, black gram dal over night Grind them to a paste adding yeast, half a cup of cooked rice, salt and sugar to taste with sufficient water to make a thick batter. . It will take about 6 hours for the batter to ferment Shallow fry the dosas in a frying pan. Eat with chuteny or even with a dash of honey What is your favourtie breakfast item?

I believe dosa is a South Indian dish. And South Indian dishes are my favorite, like dosa and idli in particular. I also love onion uthappam. However, coming back to dosa, my wife does make dosa at home. But we never add sugar to it. I think the next time we make dosas at home, I'll ask my wife to add sugar to taste. But I don't know how it'll taste.

@allknowing I'll ask my wife to add some sugar to it to taste. I'm curious to see how it tastes that way. Jaisi jiski soch... As you might have heard Bagha say, in "Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chashma"

I like them when sugar is added. To each their own.

Is that kind of like a pancake? I've never heard of them before. For breakfast on a weekday I have no added sugar Alpen with blueberries on top and strawberries on the side, but I prefer what I have on a weekend, which is porridge with a dash of maple syrup on top. (That reminds me, I must put maple syrup on my shopping list!)

Pancakes are thin and the batter is not allowed to ferment while for the dosa the batter is allowed ferment and they are much thicker I have had maple syprup when I was holidaying in the US, with pancakes.

Your dosa recipe sounds delicious and easy to prepare! It's great that you enjoy making it at home. As for my favorite breakfast item, I'd have to say I really enjoy a classic breakfast burrito. Filled with eggs, cheese, beans, and sometimes avocado or salsa, wrapped in a warm tortilla.

I don't usually follow standard breakfast menus - whatever l feel like when l wake up that's what l will have, providing it is healthy. Sometimes l will have left overs from lunch the day before .
