I Got A Text Yesterday

I got a text yesterday, of course I was in no mood for texts, with my back hurting. Well, I checked today, and a friend wants me to come to her house, and help her fill out an application for a job. She use to work there. It's being a security guard. She's almost 80, and they have to work 9 hours a day. Maybe they won't make her work that many hours. I tip my hat to her, I sure wouldn't want to be of all things a security guard. I'll help her fill out the application, and wish her the best.

Yikes, she must be desperate. Of course in the old days when they used to have guards in the bank they were all old.

@popciclecold I understand. I'd be bored and almost lonely if I did not have a day job.

That sounds a very inappropriate job for a woman which is that old. I can't imagine them employing her really.

@popciclecold At her age, no one will hire her. Maybe doing daycare?

Wow, that's quite an undertaking for someone in upper years (assuming that!) I agree with you, that is not a job I would want.

I don’t think I’d feel good about hiring an 80 year old for a job in security. I would worry about her well-being if someone came in as a problem. Bless her heart.

It is desperate times with challenges everywhere. People are working past 65 to get the financial challenges fixed. There are lot of layoffs and salaries are not able to meet our needs . Many families are cutting down on the household expenses to be on the safer side. With cost of medicines all raising , I have empathy for your friend. At 80 , if she is looking for a job means she is desperate for a job. Kindly help her by all means possible .

I hope your back is better. I would certainly not want to work at my age, let alone 80. I hope she gets the job if she really needs to work. Have a good day.
