Vince might glow in the dark tonight

It’s 8.40 am in my part of the world. Vince has gone off to have some tests. He has to drink some radioactive stuff and is joking that he’ll glow in the dark when he comes home. I’ll let you know if that’s the case.
He has to avoid going near pregnant women and children for a hour or two after the procedure. Next week he sees a specialist about a lesion on his lung. From what he’s read it usually means removal of the upper part of one lung which sounds pretty drastic. Hopefully, it may not come to that.
I’m waiting for a hair-dresser to come to trim my hair. I found one who does house calls and doesn’t charge the earth so I’m pleased about that. I just want a few inches taken off. If she finishes in time, I might go to a handicraft group and start a new string mat. I have a heap of string in the garage and it needs to be used up.

A hair dresser who makes house calls. That sounds nifty! You are right removal of part of a lung does sound pretty radical. Can't they just monitor it for a little while to see if it is growing?

@snowy22315 We're starting to stress a bit now. His own doctor is very approachable and he might be able to give us some idea of what will happen. We see him tomorrow (it's Thursday here)

I hope not. Well about the loss of part of a lung thing.

@JudyEv Trust me I do understand how that goes. Waiting is the hardest part.

I pray all will go well for Vince and that he will not have to have anything removed.
I admire people with crafty type skills, all I know is photography and yard work, gardening isn't so easy in this arid desert but I've managed to grow a few trees

I hope he doesn't have to have more surgery, I know he is no doubt tired of it all.
If he glows in the dark, maybe you can save on your electric bill!

They followed a lesion on Bob's lung for a year or more and finally they sent him to a pulmonologist who set them straight. He said sometimes you get moisture in the lungs that just makes scary images. I would so love it if that turned out the same for Vince.

Wouldn't that just be the best outcome? I'm not counting on it but at least we know there might be other options for the shadow. Thanks for that.

That must be some powerful stuff he drinks. I like the little mat. Hope it turns out ok, about the lung. Have a nice day.

Watch out for his bowels for a few days, they might be as dangerous as Chernobyl!
Seriously, I pray there’s nothing wrong with his lung.

Hi @JudyEv - I have had that test, and also had to avoid being around certain people. At our local hospital, they even have one specific restroom that is designated for use only by people getting that PT scan. They discovered that I had a small lung cancer in the upper right lobe of my lung, and removed the entire lobe last year. I still get short of breath, but I didn't need to have any other treatments for the cancer. I hope that Vince also has a positive outcome after his test. Sending hugs to you both!

Vince goes to see the specialist tomorrow but his own GP doesn't think it will need surgery. It seems they weren't taking any chances with your lung cancer, which is good really. It would have been a bonus to not need any other treatment.

@JudyEv - I'm glad they are taking a wait and watch approach with Vince's spot in his lung. They apparently have time to see if it grows. Mine was growing, so I am glad they caught it early.

@DeborahDiane Vince's has grown but very slowly. He saw the specialist today and they'll ring in a few days to say whether they'll do a biopsy or take a wait-and-see approach.

I hope all goes well with Vince and his test.
Glad you found a hairdresser who will come to your home and doesn't charge a lot for that. My friend, who is a hairdresser, is going to one of the ladies from church who fell and required surgery, home to do her hair for her.
Hope you can use up your string on a new string mat

I hope Vince doesn't have to have more surgery. I would love to have a hairdresser come to my home and cut my hair. Making a string mat sounds like fun. Have a good day.

When my grandpa was going through Chemo we used to joke about that stuff too. I hope all goes well with his tests.

Thanks. He sees the next specialist next week. We have no idea what might happen - surgery, chemo, radiation - who knows.
