They spent Rs. 5000,0000000 for the wedding and this is just 0.5% of thier net worth. I cannot possibly talk of where that money has gone but going by what one of the women wore on that day which is a ' maang tika' on her forehead - studded with precious diamonds you wlll get an idea of the loads of diamonds and other costly ways they went about celebrating that wedding. That 'maang tika' (marked red in the photo) cost Rs. 4,5000000 Here is a link that has more details where the money spent I just read they had 2500 items on the menu.

But then there is logic behind this. Yes the rich are getting richer. But after all money attracts money. And they have that kind of contacts too to make things happen. Can't blame them for this. They have; That's why they are showing off and spending.

They have grown the richest in these 10+ years. We cannot really complain about how they spend their money. I am okay as long as their money is circulating in India..

Government is all for them. It is not about complaining but spending almost Rs. 5 crores just for that tiny bit on the forehead is meaningless. When half of India is starving why publicise your opulence?

@allknowing I think all the rage and criticism is directed to them which is actually misguided!!! One should criticise and ask questions to the ruling government when they are killing competition and promoting oligarch!! If half of India is starving, that means the government has failed and one should condemn the government who is ruling the country!! We cannot really ask them on their morality and dictate how to spend their money!! One should condemn how all the political leaders went to their party? What is the relation between them which they are covering and we ain't pointing it out!!

Well it's their money and they have all the right in the world to spend how they like it. But to me, this is really an extravagant marriage. And some of the expenses where really unnecessary. Well, we call that unnecessary. But for them, these are necessary things. Or even if you don't call them "necessary", they just afford to do that quite easily. The clothes, the fashion accessories, the decoration... Well, forget about anything lacking there, on the contrary everything is of top class. It's just a matter of thought, and things are in place.

Where others benefit getting employment should be fine but a maang tika costing four and a half crores is beyond me to accept as being a necessity. 2500 items on the menu. There are better ways to spend that money.

@abhi_bangal Good to know there are a few like you who sing their praises. What they are spending on charity is very little going by the poverty and joblessness that still exists in India. I think they own 40% of the wealth in India - I just read that somewhere. How can one man amass so much wealth while a large portion of Indians are in utter poverty? Talking of using one's wealth this applies not just to the Ambanis but others as well They have no limit how much they can possess while a huge percdentage of Indians are starving Do you have any suggestions on how this wealth owned by a selected few could be used to reduce poverty in the country?

@abhi_bangal I just read they spend a mere .08 percent of their wealth on charity They keep 99.02 for themselves and you call this charity? (lol) They spent .05 percent on just a wedding Think again.

It does not make sense to me either Spending well is fine as it gives an opportunity for employment but crores of that tiny maang tika is meaningless.
