Meal prep

If I do not do meal prep for the weekend, our eating during the week suffers.
After supper tonight I put together a chicken salad, using canned white meat chicken. I have not put any dressing on it yet, just got the basics done.
We had some really good grapes last week, that tasted very much like fresh from the garden. I had a few left. So they are in the chicken salad, along with a gala apple, some finely minced celery and some onion.
I will stir some sour cream and maybe some mayonnaise into it tomorrow.
I mentioned that I went thrift shopping after coffee with Jane. I have washed up those new items.
I have cleaned litter trays and taken out trash and did some mopping, but I really do not work hard enough.
It has rained some today, so I did not mow. It is supposed to rain overnight as well.I potted a small plant Zogie gave me.
Tomorrow after church we will go to another town, Salina, to get some shelves for my pantry so I can get it organized before school starts.
I have a couple of things to do before I go to bed. It is nine o'clock now.

I try not to nap too often cause it messes up my evening sleep. Sometimes I think I fall asleep sitting in front of the computer.

Wow, take tomorrow off, you worked too hard today.
I occasionally will make extra rice to have it “ready to go” in with the broccoli, chicken, or whatever I’m having. I love canned chicken: last night I threw some BBQ sauce on some and put it in the microwave for a few seconds, then pigged out on “BBQ chicken sandwiches.”

Yes, when I fix rice we have it in three different meals. Great extender. So is a microwaved baked potato. I never take too much of the day off, I do not like me when I do that.

You had a busy day. I used to cook all day Saturday for the week, then go to my in-laws and cook for them and do their laundry...then go back to work on Monday. I hated that schedule. Have a good day.

bob cannot chew the big pieces very well, so I try to make them tiny. We like celery, but chewing can be hard.

@GardenGerty I can understand that. I have trouble with tough meat. Not enough back teeth and the ones that are there get a bit sore if I have to chew a lot.
