Has anyone else had this problem?

A few days ago, for no reason at all, my ‘phone (which is a Nokia of some sort) decided to change the size of the text in my text messages. I didn’t do anything at all to change any settings. Only text messages are affected. On the same ‘phone I read emails from two accounts, use WhatsApp, browse the web and write notes, and all of those are normal size. I can’t do anything to make it bigger. I can’t expand the text on the screen using my fingers (as I can for emails or web pages). I’ve tried changing the font settings to the biggest size and the display size to large, but that just makes everything else really big and the text messages stay tiny. It’s so small I almost need a magnifying glass to check I am writing what I think I’m writing (especially when auto-correct kicks in!) I’ve asked everyone else but no-one has any other suggestions. I’ve searched online and found one person asking about the same problem on a forum, but no responses. Anyone else experienced this? Any help gratefully received! The photo is completely unrelated, I just wanted a cheerful picture!

Got it in 2020. Not sure what model it is!

@Fleura Then it could be a result of it's age and poor updating.

I can't help ya. I really don't understand these new-fangled things. Getting news on a phone was when you listened in on a partyline and texting was writing a letter...

Tech can be so frustrating at times. All of sudden the video on my kindle started to go to like quarter screen, just out of the blue. I am sure there is a way to fix..but I don't want to have to call them. That is always a pain. I need to check the settings menu, but it seems to be something specific to prime. Netflix plays fine on there.

Your mobile must be ancient: Nokia haven’t made phones in years! Get yourself a new smartphone and try to keep up with the times. That’s my advice.

@Fleura Which book is that, the bible? On my phone, you can change the size of messaging text by pinching with your fingers.

@Orson_Kart On my phone, I can change the size of anything else by doing that - but not texts - not any more!

2020. That's not ancient in my book!

I went to ChatGPT and keyed in 'How do I change the size of text on my nokia phone' and it came up with a series of steps. It's a bit long to add it all here but you might find it useful.

That's a clever idea! I take it that it worked?

OK I just tried that, it suggested all the things I already tried. Those just made all the other text on the 'phone much too big but didn't change the text messages.

@Fleura I was hoping it might have worked for you. I didn't try it as I didn't want to mess with my own phone. I have trouble enough just reading messages.

I had this happen with my older phone. The text message lettering became so small, I could barely read it.

What a coincidence it is... I'm traveling for 3 days straight. And I didn't get enough time to look into internet things like emails and WhatsApp etc. But interestingly my call app got the light mode, and so did my WhatsApp. Both these apps had dark modes. And interestingly, only I can open my phone because only my thumb is set at biometric password. As if that was not enough, notifications also got transparent. I really don't know how this happened. I didn't mention a single word of your discussion. But what I wanted to mention is that weird things can happen. And I'm using a Redmi Note Android phone.

It certainly seems that weird things happen of their own accord! We are at the mercy of our technology these days.

@Fleura So rightly said. We are at the mercy of the technology these days. I totally agree that weird things can happen. And you never know when. Like we see the Microsoft outage just a few days back. Almost all the key services around the world got affected. We never know what jokes the technology will play with us

@abhi_bangal Yes I laughed at that - some places could only accept cash - after 'they' have been telling us that we will soon become a cashless society

Is there a number you can call to talk to them and see if they can help you fix the problem.

I'm of no help because we have basic flip phones with cameras. I hope someone here can help you. Have a good week.
