Wednesday's Happenings!

I had a lot planned for today and I got a lot done. But I didn't get everything on the list done. Oh well. Let's just blame it on the weather and the thunderstorms!
I got up and started my outside rounds of feeding all of the animals, and getting clean water for them. I did a little bit of weeding in the garden and then finished up putting more primer on the grow out pen for the baby chicks. They are tween size now and about six inches tall!
After the primer dired, I got the hubby to help me bring it out by the chicken coop. I had made room for it earlier under the eave of one of the coops. That way it is out of the weather and will stay dry. Next, we brought the chicks out there and i transferred them to the new growout pen. They seemed to like it and I went ahead and got their water and feed bowls all cleaned up and filled up.
Next on the agenda was to finish tagging some things for the Flea Market. I got some done on that and stopped to grab a bite to eat and a cup of coffee afterwards.
And then the clouds rolled in and the thunder roared in the distance. I was already tired from all the morning's activities and it was getting late, so I decided to just hang it up and go tomorrow. Then my hubby reminded me that he had a doctor's appointment in Baton Rouge tomorrow. So, the Flea Market will wait until Friday!
How was your day today? (I'm beating the midnight deadline so still technically still Wednesday here.)

I hope your husband's doctor appointment goes well. You had a busy day! Yesterday the concrete was poured for the steps and the new window was installed. Nothing much going on today. Have a good day.

I always wanted a few laying hens, but our property wasn't zoned for such.
I do love reading about yours though.
Yesterday was a good day.
I only worked a part day and then joined my husband over at our son's place and watched the twins until our son finished work. I love spending time with them, although they are 2, and are starting to live up to the terrible part of that.

We loved all the stories we heard about our twins when they started school. I even had one story published about them in Chicken Soup for the Soul from middle school. There was a boy that liked one of them, but he couldn't tell them apart. He chose the wrong one to talk to and the conversation was hilarious!
You have so much entertainment in your future!

I have to friends who have chickens, but don’t eat eggs. They just thought it would be fun to have chickens. I just keep remembering the rooster who got your face.
My day was fairly uneventful. I was getting ready to go to the doctor this morning when his office called to say he was sick, but would call in my prescription I was to see him about by 4pm. Four PM came and went, and nothing. I called the office, and they said they’d contact him, and he did call it in. Finally, at 6pm I went to pick it up at the pharmacy. And you know how long those lines are at 6pm. Exciting stuff, huh.

Everyone here is giving my hubby a hard time about the rooster here since he is still alive. He went after my hubby not too long ago and ripped his jeans. I'm surprised he didn't wring his neck then and there. But he is still crowing!
He stays away from me now. I take the board in with me and I show it to him and ask him if he wants some. He turns around and walks off then.
