Last Sunday Andrea and I planted the spinach seeds I bought. We also planted some dwarf beans. As they are still seeds I decided to plant it in a recycled detergent pod container as I am planning to transfer them to a proper pot when they grow bigger. Yesterday there were 2 or 3 of them growing well. Today I was surprised to find out more of them. The Dwarf Beans are sprouting too but no leaves yet. This makes me really happy as I planted it without expecting much. We will have free salad in our backyard soon.

Is there enough time left to grow them? Summer is nearly over!

@Orson_Kart You can keep planting until August. But I am just trying my luck. I do worry about the slugs they do love nibbling organic goods.

@flapiz What, summer is, or you can keep planting the seeds until August? You are down south, so probably got enough time. I hope the bugs and beasties don’t eat them before you do.

Congratulations. It is really so rewarding to have a mini backyard for your own supply of veggies, fruits and herbs.

Me too. It is a versatile salad and it goes well with Filipino dishes. It is my alternative to moringga as it is not very common here in the UK.
