What haven't you done that you would like to?

I need to start writing a list because of course I am not getting any younger, and am already long in the tooth. One thing I would like to do is attend a poetry reading or sometimes known as a slam. I think they are the same thing..you poets in here can set me straight if I am wrong..cuz maybe the slam is more of a contest of sorts. When I was attending college, I often went to coffeehouses, you would think they would have poets occasionally but they were all local musicians not a poet in the bunch. What would you like to do that you haven't done? I think I am going to try to make this a series.

I have a long list of things I'd like to do. I like the idea of poetry readings in coffee shops. There are often musicians/musical events at local venues but never poetry. I am a poet (although I haven't written any for quite some time) but I'm not sure of the difference between a reading and a slam. I would guess the slam is, as you say, more of a contest. I'd also think it would be several people doing short poems (like an open mic) whereas a reading would be, perhaps one or two poets specifically booked.
On my own bucket list, there are lots of places I'd like to visit. I'd really like to learn to fly. I've been the passenger in a helicopter, which was amazing. There is a huge zip wire in Wales that I'd like to experience, and I'd like to go in a hot air balloon. One thing I've done before but remains on my list to do again is abseiling (rapelling). I abseiled down a building but would love to do that in a natural setting.
I could go on and on and on and on about the things I have done but want to do! I wish you well in achieving all the things you want to do.

@Orson_Kart appearances can be deceiving - I'm walking around like a zombie most of the time.
A couple of people have said hot air balloons weren't great. I'd still do it, given the chance. I said to a friend once that we must just like being high up because we're short!
I did do a skydive years ago. That was exhilarating but I don't want to do it again (I've done an indoor one since). I've done short zip wires. We have one in a park near me but it's really short and not very high.

Hi PJ, you always appear so full of energy.
I’ve been up in a hot air balloon, but didn’t like it. Save your money and put it towards something more exhilarating. Zip wire sounds good, as does abseiling, but not for me. I’ll just hold your coat.

I was supposed to go skydiving at 30, but then the buddy who was going to go with me backed out. I’d like to revive some interest in that as it is number one on my bucket list. I don’t have too many others on the list anymore. I’m too tired to think far.
I’m going to want great detail about this poetry slam you eventually go to.

I believe a poetry slam is more enthusiastic than a general poetry reading. I have read my work with others several times. I would like to walk in England's Lake Country- Beatrix Potter helped make that area what it continues to be.

I would like to go the Cotswold in England where they have the thatched cottages, as in olden days.

@snowy22315 YES. I love that B Potter made enough money through Peter Rabbit to ensure that thousands of acres of farmland would remain farmland.

I’m about the same age as you, but honestly couldn’t create a list of things I want to do. I’ve done most things, like travel, drive a fast car, fly in a helicopter. Now I’m happy just to watch others have a good time and live my life vicariously.
When I go into coffee shops, the noise of the coffee machine and general chatter would drown out anyone trying to read poetry. That combined with my poor hearing would mean I wouldn’t be able to hear a thing. Maybe it would work in a library.
