They Are Ordered

I will be picking my new chicks up in a couple of weeks. Around the 14th she said. Now I just have to get the wire here so I can be ready when they are big enough to go outside. I can't wait. I have been without chickens for too long.
I pulled this boy out of the tree twice today. We had been calling him the wild one. But now he is goofy butt. He was up it a third time and I told him I wasn't getting him. I did lean an old ladder against the tree for him. When I walked away he decided to try it. Now he can get out by himself.
I didn't do anything really today except take my change to the bank. I had almost 60 dollars of that. And then stopped to pay for the chicks. I also dug out the front of the shed some. The door shuts easier now. But I need to do some more yet. It's been too hot to want to cook that jelly down more. I don't have to hurry.
Tomorrow is the auction. After we get home I might get the chicks first home ready for them. When I get the shed ready I might get some ducks if the guy still has them. If not I will watch the auction probably in September. I might not be ready yet as it is next week for August sale.

@dfollin Anything in the weasel family can get through extremely small holes. As we now have a problem with them I bought that. Don't get any bigger than half inch by half inch holes.

I just need to get hardware cloth up to keep weasels out. I have had chickens a lot.

Can't wait.
He is still a kitten so I think it scared him when he got up there the first time. After that was for attention but still a little scared.

How fun about the chicks. Goofy butt sounds like he has a very appropriate name. I hope the auction is everything you want it to be tomorrow.

I am getting buff opingtons. But I might get some already laying in September if there is some at the auction. I do want a couple of ducks and guineas yet too

@mom210 I want a breed that will go broody is part of why I picked them. The roosters will be dinner at times.
I keep everything in a run because of wildlife and a couple of neighbors not to far. So the guineas are safe too. I love hearing them scold everyone

@wolfgirl569 oh I love my ducks! They have so much more personality than the chickens. Buffs are good gentle birds too, we had some when we started out, had to get some that the kids could collect eggs from for us, Buff's peck because they are broody so the kids didn't like them but I did they are beautiful.We live in a very rural area so we didn't have good luck with guineas (wild life), I really wanted some too.
