For a change, I have a busy day

I haven’t posted for a few days and for once I have quite a busy day today. I need to make a chocolate slice, some biscuits/cookies and some mini quiches. The ladies of the village also have a film morning today so that will take up a couple of hours and I have the washing machine doing its thing so there will be clothes to hang out later. We had a Christmas in July bus trip two days ago but it was a little disappointing for some. Pumpkin, potato and cauliflower were the only vegetables served with the turkey so no greens and dessert was a massive piece of marble cake with a scoop of ice-cream. It didn’t worry me too much but for what we paid it wasn’t good value at all. Vin and I shared the dessert as it was very rich and that much sugar would have had Vince feeling ill in no time. The photo shows the slice I make. I’ll take some to the film morning. I don’t know what we’ll be seeing.

Don't you hate when you discover that you overpaid for a meal that wasn't up to par or unsatisfying? Ugg!! The slice in the photo looks delicious! I hope you enjoyed the movie today!

@JudyEv I always had the feeling that you are tolerant with meals and service, but when you are too much disappointed it's hard to hide our sentiment. I try to come here every day for a little time.

It was disappointing really although I consider myself to be quite tolerant about meals and service. Yes, I was away for a day or two but should be back more regularly now.

@snowy22315 They used to send Anzac biscuits by sea from Australia to our soldiers in Europe. I wonder what they were like by the time they got there. They would have gone by sea so would have been a few weeks old at least by the time they arrived.

We're not big on Brussel sprouts but I understand that some things scream Christmas for some people. I doesn't bother me too much but the lack of colour/green was quite noticeable on this occasion.
