Jimmy Carter's Turning 100

August 1, 2024 8:08pm CST
October 1 will be Former President Jimmy Carter's 100th birthday. Celebrations and a music concert are being planned in commemoration of this momentous event. Carter was a great president and greater still with his work at the Carter center with his lovely wife Rosslyn Cater. Habitat For Humanity has provided affordable housing for tens of thousands of people. I won't go down the list of his accomplishments and accolades. I'll save these for October 1. Carter, you've come a long way baby.

Wow! He sure is hanging on! Sad too, that his wife passed away while he was in hospice care.

He really had a long life. I was just a young teenager when he was president so I have not much info about he'd done. But I seem to recall that some say that he's a weak president. But maybe this is from his enemies.

Jimmy Carter was very nice man from the Democrats. His goal was peace. He brought peace to the Middle East. No easy feat. Some say he was a great post president because he accomplished so much after leaving office.

@JimmyDeen I'm not really aware of what President Carter had done but I know that he's one of the people who claimed that Israel is an apartheid state. So I appreciate that he is quite impartial where the Middle East crisis is concerned.

Carter was a horrible president. But I hope he makes it to his 100th anyway. That being said, Biden has made Carter look much more palatable. But it didn't take away the reality that Carter still was not good.

He's garnered praise for his achievements post office. Just seems inflation ripped into both administrations. And war broke out in two places. Whenever this happens their ratings will go down. The fight against inflation takes a few years. Both pulled through.

@JimmyDeen Hindsight is always 20/20. At the same time, before Biden, he was still listed as the worst president in modern American history.

@porwest perhaps he could've sought a second term after a few more terms not saying they beat inflation, but they can invent more strategies to fight inflation. What is a way to beat inflation?
