Green Bean Day

When I am done here I am going to get the beans picked before it gets very hot outside. It is supposed to get close to 90 today. I don't mind walking in that but I don't want to work in it.
I did gather up my quart canning jars last night. I have 30 of those. I am getting rid of all my wide mouth pint jars too. So I am thinking I will offer him the jars and wide mouth rings with a few lids for 20. With what lids cost now that is very fair I think.
I still need to get the baby chicks new home ready. I might get that done today. It won't be long and they will be calling me to pick them up. My wire has finally left California. It is now in New Mexico.
Hope you have a good day.

I hope your wire gets to you in time. Don't overheat when canning your beans. Have a good day.

It should as the chicks won't go out for a few weeks.

I haven't bothered picking those. Hubby sometimes does.
I think it will be here in plenty of time.

@wolfgirl569 That is a good idea, I also do everything I can in the morning before the sun gets too hot.

My daughter was hunting wide mouth quart jars the other day. After pricing them online, etc. she found them at our Rural King for $14 for a dozen, with lids and rings. So it seems to me your price is more than fair.
Enjoy those green beans! I had some fresh ones yesterday, so good.

I have actually decided 20 for the jars and another 10 for the rings and lids. I have 5 boxes of lids and we know how expensive they are getting

@MarieCoyle I found some on Amazon at a good price. You just have to keep scrolling. I bought 100 at a time

They really are expensive. Last summer when we needed flats, we really had to look hard. We didn’t need rings. Tried Amazon and the price was crazy. Finally found some in an online store and bought those.

Tractor supply was twice as much as rural King. So I went online and was supposed to have 2 25 foot rolls waiting for me. I would have still needed another one. But when I got there they only had one roll so I had them cancel the purchase. I actually am getting 25 foot more for about what I would have spent at Rural King. So it worked out.
