8 August - What I'm Thankful for Today

Good afternoon from a pleasant day in Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. Right now, it's 76 F with a nice breeze.
Today has been good.
I'm thankful for a quiet day. I took my tree down on the patio this morning. The lights finally died on it. Not bad for a Christmas tree. I think I had it up for about ten months. It's headed for the garbage in a little bit.
I'm thankful for the work I did on Wilderness Cry. It's coming along well. I reread everything after I made corrections to it yesterday and wrote a couple of new pages. It's still early in the book. I'm on chapter four.
I'm thankful for a good game of Canasta. We had six players, so two tables of three, no partners. I won at my table.
I'm thankful for the time I spent with you today. It's always good to know how you're doing in your part of the world.
I'm thankful for the walk along the trail and Main Street. Changed up my route to try to get more steps. It worked. I had all my steps by the time I got home.

how lucky! we get 79 on Friday. Thursday was humid and 85 but felt like 91.

I am thankful that I had a Walmart home delivery this morning and only paid 72 cents for each of my yogurts which is great as the other regular grocery store charges 99 cents each.
How many steps do you get a day? I need to lose weight and the mobile vet says my cat will surely get diabetes if he doesn't lose weight. I am dieting with him. He was a reluctant dieter. but on Thursday I got a nose rub from him while he was on the dining room table-- he is back to his loving self!

Yogurt has gone up a lot. I haven't bought it in years. The last time I did, it was .50 each.
My daily goal is 6000, but I usually get about 8000 or more per day. The foot cycle adds another 4000.
I'm glad you got a nose rub from your cat and he's back to his loving self.

@LovesEverybody If you have a nice trail near you, try walking it. You'll be amazed how many steps you get. Or take a walk around the block or complex if that isn't an option.

@just4him I remember the days when it was a lot cheaper. I am going to try to get yogurt at Walmart as I calculated it- it is 27 cents cheaper at Walmart!
You are doing great in your steps! I get around 3000-5000 a day. Very seldom do I get more. However, I am trying as my doctor insists I lose weight. Well, I will get a little over 5000 if I go out
Yes, my cat gave me a nose rub and is loving again. it may be he gets an inexpensive toy each grocery shopping trip and he got a toy again yesterday! it is easy to get his love, just have to give him a gift!
