Day 211 – War Joshua 11:1 It happened, when Jabin king of Hazor heard these things, that he sent to Jobab king of Madon, to the king of Shimron, to the king of Achshaph, 2 and to the kings who were from the north, in the mountains, in the plain south of Chinneroth, in the lowland, and in the heights of Dor on the west, 3 to the Canaanites in the east and in the west, the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Jebusite in the mountains, and the Hivite below Hermon in the land of Mizpah. 4 They went out, they and their armies with them, as many people as the sand on the seashore in multitude, with many horses and chariots. 5 When these kings had met together, they came and camped together at the waters of Merom to fight against Israel. 6 However, JEHOVAH said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid because of them, for tomorrow about this time I will deliver them slain before Israel. You will hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire.” 7 Joshua and the people of war with him came against them by the waters of Merom and attacked them. 8 JEHOVAH delivered them into the hand of Israel, who defeated them and chased them to Greater Sidon, to the Brook Misrephoth, and to the Valley of Mizpah eastward; they attacked them until they left none of them remaining. 9 Joshua did to them as JEHOVAH had told him: he hamstrung their horses and burned their chariots with fire. 10 Joshua turned back at that time and took Hazor and struck its king with the sword; for Hazor was formerly the head of all those kingdoms. 11 They struck the people who were in it with the edge of the sword, destroying them. There was none left breathing. Then he burned Hazor with fire. 12 The cities of those kings, and their kings, Joshua took and struck with the edge of the sword. He destroyed them, as Moses the servant of JEHOVAH had commanded. 13 However, the cities that stood on their mounds, Israel burned none of them, except Hazor only, which Joshua burned. 14 The spoil of those cities and the livestock, the children of Israel took as booty for themselves; but they struck every man with the edge of the sword until they had destroyed them, and they left none breathing. 15 As JEHOVAH had commanded Moses his servant, so Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did. He left nothing undone of everything JEHOVAH had commanded Moses. 16 Thus Joshua took the land: the mountain country, the South, the land of Goshen, the lowland, and the Jordan plain—the mountains of Israel and its lowlands, 17 from Mount Halak and the ascent to Seir, even as far as Baal Gad in the Valley of Lebanon below Mount Hermon. He captured their kings, struck them down, and killed them. 18 Joshua made war for a long time with those kings. 19 No city made peace with the children of Israel, except the Hivites, the inhabitants of Gibeon. The others they took in battle. 20 For JEHOVAH hardened their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that He might destroy them, and they might receive no mercy, but He might destroy them, as JEHOVAH had commanded Moses. 21 At that time Joshua came and cut off the Anakim from the mountains: from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, from the mountains of Judah, and from the mountains of Israel; Joshua destroyed them with their cities. 22 None of the Anakim were left in the land of the children of Israel; they remained only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod. 23 Joshua took the whole land, according to everything JEHOVAH had said to Moses; and Joshua gave it as an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. Then the land rested from war. God’s names: JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal Yeshuwa – Jesus Christos – Anointed One, Messiah Iesous – Jesus Theos – Supreme Divinity God’s character: Destroyer Wars have been around since the beginning of time. Governments want to add to their territory and conquer as many people as they can. JEHOVAH promised Abraham the land he lived in would belong to him and his descendants forever. However, many countries inhabited the land. JEHOVAH needed to conquer the land. He did it by using His chosen people who looked to the countries they wanted to conquer as someone easily conquered. They didn’t realize that when JEHOVAH determined to take the land nothing would stop him, not even countries mightier than His chosen people. JEHOVAH told Joshua to go against the countries to conquer them and take the land. When He told Joshua His plans, He told him He would be with them to conquer the land He gave them as their inheritance. With help from JEHOVAH, Joshua led the armies of Israel against the countries inhabiting Canaan and conquered them. With the land conquered, war ended, and the land rested. As Christians, you fight a war daily against Satan who does his best to conquer you with plots and schemes against you. You don’t fight the battle alone. Yeshuwa promised to go ahead of you into the battle. Your battle belongs to Him. Don’t let your enemy tell you JEHOVAH doesn’t care about you, that you are insignificant to the body of Christos. When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, His blood covered you. You belong to Him and what belongs to Him, He will wage war against Satan on your behalf. However, He doesn’t do it alone. You need to pray, seek His face, and study His Word so Satan can’t take a stronghold in your life. Every battle begins on your knees in prayer. Mt 16:13 When Iesous came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” 14 They said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christos, the Son of the living Theos.” 17 Iesous answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock, I will build My church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” With JEHOVAH on your side, Satan cannot come against you. Yeshuwa fights for you and the gates of Hell will not prevail against you when you pray. The war he brings against you becomes nothing when JEHOVAH fights for you. Let’s pray: Father, You promised to go ahead of me into the battle when I seek You on my knees. Let me not fear what Satan thinks he can do to me, because You fight for me. Give me Your strength as You fight by my side, and I see Satan conquered. Give me Your rest at the end of the battle. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. All those kings ganged up forces, against Israel. They didn't understand that Jehovah would fight Israel's battle and victor over sin and these pagan nations! Joshua obeyed God, as Moses had instructed him. And not once, did God fail to win these battles, one by one. None made peace with Israel, except for Gibeon(Hittites). When I trust in God's promises, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ's blood atonement, obey his commands, all these things shall be added unto me! We can obtain God's peace, in every battle we face! Satan has no power, over God's yielded vessels of honor, who are totally given over to His will:) Prayer is a privilege!

I agree with you. Without His blood covering me, I would be putty in Satan's hands. I won't let that happen. I'm covered by the blood and stand on the promises. There's victory in Jesus. Have a blessed day.

@just4him And I used to think, God cares about all the big problems. He certainly doesn't care about those trivial issues, that drag me down Well, I was wrong! The Lord cares about everything we face, every single day! And his love is unconditional:)

Bible prophecy is centered around Israel. It always has been.

@just4him Yes. But what about what is happening in Israel right now. Do you recognise that in Biblical prophecy?

@sharonelton Yes, it's there. Under wars and rumors of wars. God has His hand on Israel.
