Our Anniversary Dinner

As I mentioned earlier, my husband and I both forgot about our anniversary the day before yesterday. I had to go to the boutique in Louisiana for my afternoon shift. I didn't even realize that was our anniversary when I made my work schedule!
My husband didn't want to go out to eat after I got home because he said it would be too late. I managed to get out of the boutique about 5 minutes after closing so, we could have made it. He wanted to wait and do lunch the following day which was yesterday.
We ended up leaving our house mid afternoon and got caught driving in a very bad thunderstorm. We had to pull over and wait for a few minutes until the rain slackened off. You could not see anything in front of you past the windshield wipers.
We chose Santa Fe Cattle Company. They specialize in steaks, but I had gotten a steak the last time we went so decided to go with the half rack of ribs, side salad and baked potato. My hubby got the same entree but had a side salad and sweet potato casserole.
Our dinner was very good and we both enjoyed our little escapade out of the house for the afternoon. All in all, it was dinner and time spent with each other.
Do you celebrate your anniversary with a dinner out? Or do you cook a special meal at home?

I usually make a special meal that we pick up at publix. Time will tell what I'll do this year. George can barely eat and it makes a lot.

@kaylachan Do you have a grocery delivery service there you could use?

@kareng We don't do that good with leftovers, and I don't know if his stomach can handle it. I can barely get him to eat a meal everynight. Plus I'd have to get him out of the house to go to Publix.

I'm glad you had a good meal. I used to love to cook a meal at home for our anniversary; but now since I can no longer cook, we go out to eat. Have a good weekend.

@kareng That was a win. It's fairly comfortable here right now. So after we got home I got some heavier work done outside.

Sometimes we do not celebrate at all, but Bob does like to choose a special place and go out to eat.

That was a good way to celebrate your anniversary. Simple but definitely worth it.
It's good that the weather didn't stop you from celebrating. Think of it as the heavens cheering and blessing you both on that day
