A cat named Birdie who went missing from her former home just outside of Ottawa Ontario a year ago was taken by a stranger who was taking care of the cat in Fredericton New Brunswick.
Birdie was taken to the Oromocto SPCA on Monday August 12 by the family that was taking care of the cat when the veterinarians when they found a microchip on Birdie.
The veterinarians contacted Birdie's owners to inform them the good news that their missing cat was found safe and sound.
Birdie will take a trip back from New Brunswick to Ontario by a family that will go on vacation soon to travel 600 miles.
If only animals could talk. Birdie would tell anyone where did she travel after she left her home a year ago in Ottawa to New Brunswick.

I hope our missing pets are returned to us someday too. Unfortunately, they're not microchipped. I just wish they're being taken care of wherever they are.

Inspiring story. Well, pet owners should take a note of this and have a microchip on their pets . This would also serve to help in such situations. Government should also reinforce the same as to have owners accountable for their pet and thir well being as well. Birdie is one of the few lucky cats to get to back to the original family. Amazing how far teh cat had travelled. Perhaps , Birdie can tell a tale if he could speak about the little journey he had. Glad to hear about Birdie and his return.Thank you for sharing this inspiring story!

You have a good point there about microchipping the cats.
