Well, maybe a Daddy. I dunno. But one of the sunflowers I planted as a seed is starting to bloom. I almost lost it when I transplanted it to a larger pot, but it (and my tomato plant) are rallying. I also have a couple of ears of corn starting to develop. Do I get a big "congratulations!" and maybe some balloons? Or a bottle of Glenlivet?

Did I tell you how my great-great-grandfather helped some dude in Moline Illinois start a plow factory? True story!

I am surprised the sunflower can handle being in a pot. They have huge root systems. Congratulations on being so productive.

Yeah, mine never get really tall. But they do throw flowers. The ones we grew in Oakland and Berkeley got pretty big.

Succulents can cure that. They're hard to kill.

Well, my 'normal' gift for a new parent is a handmade baby blanket. I am not sure how that would work in this case, but if you think Baby Sunflower would benefit from a baby blanket, let me know and I will see what I can do.
