Did you ever use "tags" on MyLot?

What I first joined MyLot, payout was $10 and tags were popular on MyLot posts. I can't even remember how many years ago I joined. I think tags made "relevant posts" appear to the right of our MyLot screen, but that those relevant posts slowed down the system, leading to a lot of timeouts. Old-timers--is that how you remember it? Anyway, I stopped using tags years ago, and I think most MyLotters have done the same. I'll have to check. Do you ever use tags on MyLot?

I use tags most of the times and I often get new responses because of them.

Do you know how the tags yield more comments? I am not sure.

I don't know if they make a difference. I stopped using them a few years ago.

I am always using tags to find older posts. I am quite known around here for digging up some VERY old posts and commenting on them.

I use tags. We used to earn more if we did. It makes your posts searchable. I also have, in the last year or two, started making my first tag the month and year for my own organization. I do not tag responses and replies, just tag the posts.

I would have to check and see when I stopped using tags on my posts.

You've been here for 9 years. I remember the older posts on the side bar. No, I never used tags.

I still use tags on my own discussions (if I remembered) but not on comments or anything else. I would agree with the comments that the tags might affect your 'interesting discussions' feed. I've searched tags if I've wanted to find an old discussion. Of course, that only works if the discussion has been tagged!

I do sometimes, but usually don't. I think they were originally for search optimization, bringing in new people when they searched for something...

Ah, could be. Maybe I'll try using them randomly as an "experiment."

I do continue using tags. It is more of a habit. Yet I am also on a few Social Media avenues. Their Hashtags and keywords matter. So using tags make me feel good and also keeps me aware of what kind of content I am posting. From a neutral point of view I cannot say whether tags achieve their purpose but I have a guess that sometimes one can find something relevant through tags.

I am one of the “old-timers”, but I can’t remember why there are tags other than to filter posts. JJ might be able to help there. If you look at your own profile, it will tell you that you joined 9 years ago.

Had to do a little research to figure out when I joined myLot. It was May of 2009. I lost access to my first account and rejoined in 2011. I have used tags on discussions but I don't think ever on comments. Not sure I've seen any difference in responses.

I have always used tags - well, almost always. I use them to try to find old posts that I might have written about this or that subject.

I use them on my posts but not my comments. I'm thinking about stopping though. Tags are better for social media not so much for here, I think.

I'm an old timer, it's always on my mind to keep my account alive. But I always let go of that thought and here I am again trying to make a comeback. I do use random tags, and general ones so that it will be easy for me to check my discussions by topic. I'm not sure using one, or none has really an effect on it.

I will still use tags on my posts when I write them - just to do it (out of habit?). I forgot about the posts on the side but I do remember plenty of time outs. It's funny but I remember less about the times before we all left and went to that B place. I "grew" at B and was a completely different by the time I came back here.

I joined three months ago. Either reading about the rules or by observing other mylotters, I started to add five relevant tags to all my responses and discussions. I have also seen that not all add tags to their responses and discussions. Considering tags could be useful for future reference , I am all for it. Besides, tags could be helpful in classifying our discussions to relevant categories , if mylot plans to do that in future. I do not see any harm in continuing the practice. Good to know the actual historical reasons why tags were there.
