Test of the Central Nervous System

I am sure that was what Freddie was doing this morning testing my central nervous system. He has sat with me while I have babbled at him when my anxiety has risen and the looks he has given me have helped to ease the tension. Anyway, it was one of those good and quiet mornings around 6 AM. The light was just coming onto a new day, I was drifting not really asleep and not really awake. Then WUMP!!! Freddie literally flew onto the bed with all four paws landing on the mattress, It was a rude awakening. However, by now Freddie knows what the tone of my voice sounds like when I don’t like something and my shout “Freddie!” Took him back off the bed. He is not fat but he is muscular and quite a heavy cat now so his landing on the mattress lifted everything up me and the mattress included. To atone for his mistake he later greeted me as I came into my workroom singing something in cat to me.

My Onyx used to take a running leap and land on my bed when he was young. Sometimes he would land on my legs making me jump up! What really used to test my nerves was he would wait until the middle of the night when it was dark and go to the living room while I was in bed and start meowing at the top of his lungs like something was wrong. Of course, I would get up and go to the living room and he would stop meowing and sit there looking innocent! we did that nightly for months but I didn't mind much because he is my best friend.

@LovesEverybody my Freddie occasionally gets in the mood to sing what sounds like an operatic aria at around 3 AM

@RasmaSandra My Onyx usually sleeps through the night until 1 a.m. but he doesn't sing as I usually get up by then so he wouldn't have fun scaring me. He used to as a kitten sing at 10 p.m which for the two of us is in the middle of the night. If i am not up by 2 a.m. or 3 a.m. he jumps on my bed and kisses me until i get up.

Nico jumps from the window sill onto me on the bed He is 12 pounds himself..and you notice that since it is a five foot jump lotsof energy behind it Freddie and Nico could be fraternal twins..as Nico's coloring is identical..but his eyes are Amber.

@snowy22315 well Freddie can make it to the top of a tall bookshelf in one leap so when he jumps he really sort of flies, If he had not only landed on bed but also on me I cannot guarantee the condition of my nerves after that

@RasmaSandra Nico doesn't like high heights. He likes his 48 inch cat perch, but that's about as high as he goes. He prefers his feet on the floor

@BelleStarr my last cat Sid back in Latvia would jump on the bed and start licking either my hair or my husband's hair, It was like getting your hair washed in bed

Cats can certainly make their presence felt when they want to.

I love the way cats can land on the bed like a ton of bricks and other times you never feel a thing
