Teaching Birds the Migratory Route

Can you imagine? I think this story from Germany is wonderful. It first tells us that Northern Bald Ibis birds who were in extinction have revived by breeding and getting back into the wild, Now scientists and conservationists have found a way to be foster parents to these birds as well as flight instructors. When the ibis were in the wild and it came to migration elder member led the way to where they had to fly but now there are no elder members and it is like starting anew. With human intervention the birds will be taught the migratory route.

Oh wow that is amazing. I couldn’t imagine the why they would need to do that when I saw the title but then realized it makes sense after reading your post. Thankfully these animals have wonderful people to help them!

That's interesting. I thought they had it inborn in them when it came to migration.

I hope that the birds learn the route. It is sad when any species of animals become extinct.

I saw one chap in a microlight leading some geese. Not sure if he was teaching them or just following the route
