After a year and a half

Where has the time went? Things changed for me last Thursday, I quit my job, I did give a 30 notice for the store to replace me. They brought no one in to train and it was a huge responsibility but that's on them. I guarantee I'll be missed by home office. The reason I quit was because the manager was stealing. Not merchandise but hours for another sections manager and I didn't know, I knew she was gone on vacation and when I was doing payroll I put her down for her 40 hours of paid vacation. She wasn't due for vacation till the fall, so he lied and said I made a mistake. Since she is salary he was giving her a free unknown to home office vacation. I don't play like that, you aren't there, you won't be paid for free. Home office came in and went through all the full time employees, when and who was due one week or two weeks vacation. I don't know what was said to the store manager but a week before they came he told me to make sure it was updated. I did. I liked six days till my month was up but last Thursday I had enough! The assistant manager was there and she hated me so when I was asked my over/ short for the morning I couldn't get it because money was missing from the day before and night office clerk didn't do his job. I told home office customer service district manager about all the paperwork I had ready to send out Wednesday morning, I was off Wednesday, so she sided with the assistant manager, knowing good and well what the big people wanted at home office. Anyways mid shift I had enough of her going from employee to employee laughing at me. I gathered my things, took the keys and handed them to her, said "I quit" andwalked out. Needless to say, as I drove away it felt like a ton of bricks lifted off my shoulders. In three days I've saved so much money!! Around $400! Working 40-45 hours a week I didn't have time to get work done and paid people to do it. I was usually away from home 12 to 15 hours a day, go home sleep and do it again. Anyways I finally free from all that stress and I got my life back. Actually I can make more money staying home... To be continued. How has life been treating everyone?

I’m sorry you were treated like that. It was not your fault. Take a little break and get some rest!! Glad to see you back!

I know it wasn't my fault, I didn't realize how stressed I was till I left.

@andriaperry People don't realize how stress can truly effect their health, but it certainly does.

I'm glad you took care of you. I just paid somebody a good sized chunk of change and his job was simple: make the smoke alarms shut up. But: he was young enough and agile enough to climb onto a chair without a fear of falling. He also could work over his head. He earned his keep.

@andriaperry — I know. A co-worker was embarrassed by something I said at a division meeting, and that afternoon she claimed that I hacked her computer. It was so well-believed that the director of the clinic came down and talked to me, and HR told me they were going to fire me on the spot. So I took my final days of vacation, came back and turned in my two-week notice. My supervisor asked why I was quitting and I replied, “You know why I’m quitting.”

I am sorry that you worked with such jerks, but you did the best thing for you, and got the last word. It will be an adjustment for you, transitioning from working to not, but you'll keep busy, that is just who you are.

I would have done the same thing myself, I've had to walk away from a lot of dirty jobs where I said that's it I'm done working for people & went into doing my own thing, & I was a lot happier for doing it too. Sometimes we have to make decisions that some people just think are stupid, & unjust but once we do them we find out it was a lot better & we are a lot happier for doing it asking ourselves " why didn't we do it sooner" but once it's done we're super glad we did it.

Geez, that is a lot of work crap to have dealt with! Sorry you were put through that - enough is enough - and I don't blame you for walking out. Who wants that kind of stress . . . here's to better times!

Especially this morning because Monday's are the days we have to turn in certain reports to certain people in the main office and doing payroll.

You've always been a "go getter" so I don't doubt that you'll be making money doing something pretty quickly. I'm sure you feel better after quitting that job.

Wow! You caught them red handed. Cheaters everywhere. Life is pretty decent. I still work at school. I was going to cut back, but with the raises I was cutting out about $800 per month. Right now I have my "back to school" cold everyone gets, but it will be fine. I intend to read more of what you have been doing.

It's been okay I suppose. George is recovering from a stroke so he's spent a lot of time on the couch as a result.

I quit my job when my boss passed and the environment went downhill. Being the CFO, I knew I could not take risks for what others do. I felt a load of bricks off my shoulders, but I had to find a replacement to ensure I could walk out.

From what ever you mentioned , it seems the workplace has become toxic. Once it is toxic, staying there would do us more harm. I am glad to see like many others here, you took the right decision. My only suggestion is till the time you get good earnings from working online, do see if there are other jobs available and see if that helps. In case you feel burnout and want to be stress free for sometimes, you can try online. If lucky you could be earning well. Good luck with same!
