26 August - What I'm Thankful for Today

Good evening from Hot, humid Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. The air is heavy and oppressive. We had a heat advisory today.
I'm thankful I went to the Kroc Center this morning. I swam laps for 50 minutes, then circle walking for ten. Then it was upstairs on the fitness track. I didn't want to walk the trail in the heat today, so I had all my steps before I left. I walked the oval track for 45 minutes. Since this morning, I needed to go out in the heat. I have over 14K steps. I haven't done the foot cycle yet and might not.
I'm thankful I got over to the office first thing this morning when they opened. I brought them my paperwork for the original signed lease agreement, and told them what I was not going to do, and what I needed. I told them I pay my rent ahead of time due to the date I get my SS check. She kept telling me to calm down. She also said she would call me back this afternoon. She actually did.
While I waited, I also put flyers in the other buildings for the potluck on Monday for my friend who is moving.
I'm thankful the office called and everything is straightened out with my lease and with Housing.
I'm thankful my new caseworker for Housing sent me an e-mail today. God is GOOD! Talk about timing. I updated her that I wasn't moving and that the lease had changed. I ended up back in the office right after the e-mail and the new manager sent the new lease information over to Housing.
When this new manager gets out from under the District Managers thumb, she will be a good manager. I told her I hope they keep the present receptionist.
I'm thankful I talked to them about my fridge that hasn't had a light in it since I moved in because of a broken switch. She's going to have the maintenance guy take a look at it. What I need is a new fridge. She's also going to look into that.
I'm thankful I lost all the weight I needed to do with my workout at the Kroc Center this morning. I weighed myself twice. Before and after swimming. I lost 2+ pounds and am less than my low from last week.
With all the walking I did on the complex alone in the heat, I have over 14K steps. When I was in the office last, they gave me a bottle of water. They could see how hot I was.
I'm so thankful that everything worked out better today than I expected or anticipated. I'm going to skip the foot cycle today and head to bed. I'm exhausted. I better get my suit and towels off the balcony first.
What are you thankful for today? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

I guess I am sort of thankful things are sort of on track with the mortgage as I mentioned. Also, will get the gift cards from my platlet donation. They are on the way. Son gave me ideas about how to fix the puter, but at least one of them was wrong..oh well, it will get worked out somehow.

Everything tends to work out in the least expectant ways. I've been known to panic like that only for things to work out better then I expected them to be.
For the second day in a row, George has asked for hotdogs, asking for milk this time, too. So now he's drinking the milk, eating the hotdogs and has had his second pill of the day. I am thankful he's starting to ask about and take an interest in food. I've decided not to stress over the peg tube. God has a plan, when it's time for him to live without it, we will know. And, not before.
George knows he has to put in the work, and, just like with his drinking, smoking and everything else, I have to let him make the choice. I can tell him what to do until I'm blue in the face. But, none of that matters if he doesn't want to. He's a groan adult and I only have control of the peg tube. And, only if he doesn't put up a fight.

I'm glad he's taking an interest in eating. Yes, God has a plan. You can only be patient.

Yesterday I was thankful that I had the money to get a new printer. The printer I was using was an older model and it doesn't work well with our wifi. I really hope this new one will.
