I was at the supermarket and the owner and I were buying 'plummy' tomatoes. These are little tiny things. Like me, she was also selecting handicapped looking vegetables. No foot long carrots or perfect sweet peppers but items that looked like they had a hard life. This is because they weren't genetically modified. They're real. They grew somewhere on their own volition and were picked by a human hand and sold to the supermarket. I make it my focus not to buy or eat anything genetically modified. The same holds true for the owner of the supermarket. Although she'll be selling those perfect vegetable, she isn't eatting them

I like purchasing the fresh ones in the public market.

The supermarket has fresh stuff... so it's like a public market...

Also so many famers use all kinds of pesticides and fertiliser and crap... so I go for stuff that 'suffered'.

@jaylar I am not sure, but in my city. Farmers tried not to use them.
