Return of the Arabian Oryxes

I think that oryxes are such beautiful creatures with their amazing horns. Arabian oryxes have glossy white coats so they stay cool in the heat of the desert. Due to overhunting these magnificent animals were classified extinct in the wild in the 1970s—conservation efforts started by breeding the species in captivity and reintroducing them into the wild. Today an estimated 1,220 Arabian oryxes are once again in the wild and 6,000 to 7,000 in captivity.
