OOPS, I almost forgot that Monday is Labor Day!

I always thank our people who work for us, they all do important work. At this point in time, it also is an "OOPS" day too. I marked the calendar on August 24th when the elevator quit. We have concluded week one in our wait. The last time (July 2024) it took more than three weeks wait for the elevator to get fixed. The property manager provided us with the information about the replacement parts being ordered but no shipment date has been designated. This is like a summer rerun!!!! I am about to post signs on the elevator doors that it will be repaired when "Hell freezes over". It does kind of get annoying when you get to use the elevator for 24 days and it quits again. I won't take bets on how long before it's fixed and how long the repairs last. My apartment complex is 3 stories tall and I live on the 3rd floor. I took the apartment because there is an elevator...otherwise, the other tenants and I are stuck in our "homes" and with any kind of luck we can handle one round trip a day downstairs. I normally wouldn't complain about the situation, except that my neighbor had to make 8 round trips to haul his groceries to his apartment. He is too much of a gentleman to accept help from the ladies, and he had to be exhausted when he finished hauling all his purchases. I need to purchase a large bag of dry cat food...The property managers should have people handy to help us out. They keep saying they can't find people willing to work. We have apartments available if you like miserable living conditions.

This is why I would always request the ground floor, and would not take the placeif a ground floor wasn't an option. I do not want to be trapped upstairs indeffently.

If you get a chance move to the ground floor. They really should have more than one elevator.

I hope there is someone who can lend his or her hand there. It would be great.
