Our small country towns are struggling to survive. Some have had some very innovative ideas in an effort to entice tourists to visit/stay/spend.
The kangaroos and emus here are made from corrugated iron. The emus in particular are very well done with the head and neck positioned just as they would be in real life.
We saw quite a few emus in our travels but very few kangaroos apart from a few that had been hit by vehicles.

That's a great art piece. I hope that they attract some more tourists and boost up the economy of the place.

@JudyEv Yes. Here too people and government need to emphasize on that. It's a great way to boost economy. And there is umpteen potential here.

That's really not right. Why do vehicles hit them?

@JudyEv If they are made from iron how can they move?

@aninditasen The iron ones do not move but the live ones in the bush sometimes get hit by cars.

Those are lovely pieces. It's sad to see an animal hit by a car. Have a good week.

In some ways our climate is probably a bit like yours. I hope you are able to visit one day.

They all look great. Unfortunately the world economy is not doing good and everyone is cutting down discretionary spends. Tourism is down globally. Another aspect is these attractions are not coming up in the international news. The news coverage or the Social Media coverage are also neccessary for getting the interest of the tourists. The art pieces look great. Again the small town needs to have other attractions or interests nearby. Hope the town authorities are looking into that aspect and working on them.

No, I haven't seen it. There is a documentary series going at the moment called Back Roads which visits lots of the smaller communities. It's been very interesting.
