Labor Day Foods Still Expensive as Ever

If you're looking forward to your favorite store-bought goodies for your Labor Day cookout this year you might notice prices are still inflated. Actually, due to the continued assault on the oil industry, and excessive spending by the Biden/Harris administration, (on programs like the Inflation Reduction Act), the cost for these items have risen in the past year. Meat, beans and beer have gone up anywhere from 3-10% from this time last year, so contrary to administration claims of inflation returning to normal, it's just not true. Harris's claim that it is a result of price gouging is also a lie, PURE GASLIGHTING. Government statistics have shown grocery stores only have a net profit margin of less than 2% on their products sold, hardly a "bonanza" of revenue! So, enjoy your hot dogs, hamburgers, and baked beans as you say goodbye to the official end of summer. Hopefully, by November there will be a shift in policies, an easing in prices, and eventually a return to prosperity for all Americans. Some Source Info: The Washington Examiner

No, I've noticed them rising again well before the holiday. Actually, holidays in the U.S. signal sales on items. The increased costs in part can be blamed on higher fuel costs to transport the goods. For stores to remain profitable and in business, the additional costs must be passed on to consumers. Thanks for your question...

Every time I hear "price gouging" I just cringle. Complete and utter BS. The only thing we can hope for is that eventually our paychecks catch up to the prices...because the prices aren't going down.

With Harris's policies it will only stifle economic growth as she attacks corporations which will only affect Americans ability to earn more.

@dgobucks226 Her tax plans scare the living hell out of me. If you want to bring the economy to a screeching halt, her plans will certainly have that effect.

Yes, it's a terrible situation OT. I have become very price conscious not only with food, but pretty much everything I decide to buy or do without.

Yes, not only food but utilities too! I've been budgeting what I buy for a couple of years now.
