Q of the Day: How Do You Like to Enjoy Your Ice Cream?

With the official end of summer and after watching people line up for ice cream at their favorite shops it got me to reminiscing about ice cream. If you are old enough, you might remember that familiar noise from the ice cream vendor's truck, and the neighborhood kids running (me too) to buy those frozen treats to eat. Instead of the chimes or bell that rang out in my day, today's call is a big "HELLO" blaring from the vehicle's speakers. A favorite ice cream of mine was a toasted almond bar which came on a popsicle stick. ***Which brings me to my discussion question... when you order ice cream what kind is your favorite and how do you like it served? There are many ways ice cream can be served, either on a stick (as I mentioned,) as a sundae, in a cone, or large milk shake cup. Two of my favorites at the ice cream parlour are the Waffle cone, I go with vanilla ice cream dipped in sprinkles, or a Hot fudge (sometimes Butterscotch) sundae. It always amazes me how long the lines are at those ice cream places when I drive by them. It seems inflation has not affected the enthusiasm or pocketbooks of people when it comes to ice cream. And I'm not just talking enthusiastic kids, the adults seem to enjoy ice cream just as much. I guess having a sweet treat to cool off on a hot summer day is a timeless tradition no matter what your age... -Do you know: What is the most popular ice cream flavor vanilla or chocolate? What do you think? ***While you're deciding your favorite ice cream and how you like it served enjoy the trivia... OTHER INTERESTING ICE CREAM FACTS - It takes approximately 50 licks to finish one scoop of ice cream. It was signed into U.S. law in the 1980's. -The world record for the largest ice cream cone ever made was achieved in 2015 in Norway with a cone over 10 feet high! Reading this makes me want to go the grocerey store and grab some ice cream for myself. I love mint flavor ice cream! I'm not really into vanilla as I find it too plain, but if it's topped with sprinkles, I would still take it. I also adore banana splts - the one that has banana being split into two and three scoops of ice cream in variouos flavours in the middle, with whipped cream, some colored sprinkles and some cherries on top.

I'm also a fan of mint chip ice cream. So different tasting yet so good. Banana splits are an excellent choice. If you're going to eat sweets might as well go all out! And you can claim the banana is a healthy fruit. Other Fun Ice Cream Facts-Did you Know: Chocolate syrup is the most popular ice cream topping. In 2024 Vanilla is America's favorite ice cream flavor, according to a recent survey by The International Dairy Foods Association.

@RebeccasFarm Apparently, he needed to get a "sugar high" to complete the Declaration of Independence. Inventing some ice cream was a great way to achieve it!

I'll take ice cream any way I can get it. It's one of my favorite things to eat. I would say that vanilla is the most popular flavor. It's the only one my husband will eat. Have a great day.

A very close vote but in 2024 vanilla is the favorite ice cream flavor, according to a recent survey by The International Dairy Foods Association. I'm not too particular about how I have my ice cream as long as I get some, lol. To me, its all good when it comes to ice cream! I’m not picky, I love any kind. Those ice cream facts are fun! As for popularity, Vanilla and Chocolate are neck and neck, but I think vanilla wins out in the end.

With my teeth. I substitute frozen yogurt for ice cream. Less lactose, more probiotics, and fewer calories.

I would hope so Although you would probably need a spoon to eat it with. Teeth bobbing for ice cream would be messy... Yogurt can be just as tasty. Other Fun Ice Cream Facts-Did you Know: -President Thomas Jefferson is credited with the first recipe for ice cream in America.
