Did you labor?

In the US this is Labor Day, which recognizes efforts towards fair labor practices by unions. At least that is how I understand it. In our school lessons though we talked about honoring and respecting all the people in our community who work to make it a better place.
I took it easy today, sort of.
I did things that always have to be done, like laundry and dishes. Bob cooked. I mowed a little because I wanted to place my pavers I bought the other day.
I put out cardboard as a weed barrier, then laid the pavers on it. On top of the pavers I put the planter. There was still room for a couple of pedestals that will hold either bird baths or flower pots. I was pleased.
I treated my hands to a paraffin treatment, because I got it set up in my bedroom on an antique typing table. I feel that it is important to put something durable and not flammable under appliances.
I need to pick out clothes for tomorrow, and pack a lunch then I am ready for bed.

I know many countries celebrate that day. I am not sure why in the US it is the first Monday of September.

I just did house chores today. Nothing that I wouldn't normally do. I did also fold and put away the laundry instead of leaving it.

You do a lot of hard work all the time. It is good you took it a little bit easier.

I always any one who has labored , who is working pay check to pay check , who depends on employment to feed the family all classify as labourers. It does not matter whether it is tcollar or blue collar job. We are laborers in one way or the other. In most countries, the Labor Day is on May first. It was a weekday for me and was busy with meetings and works to be completed. Would be extremely busy for first two weeks of September and hopefully I will have some breathing time, post that for the month. Well, glad you had a relaxation time and had time to do the household chores.

Yes, all of us who keep the economy going are laborers. I am not sure why our date is in September, yet many others choose May 1.
