9/4/24 - Update On My Husband

My husband said that the results of his chest X-ray came back. He doesn't have pneumonia but he has something else which he can't remember. I tried to call the nurses' station; but there was no answer. They are giving him breathing treatments and antibiotics. He is quite congested and coughing a lot. They have not given him another COVID test that I'm aware of.
While I was on the phone with him last night, he yelled at his roommate to turn down the TV. Sigh.
The concrete/handrail man finally returned my call. We are on his list; but he is so busy he just doesn't have time right now.
Spoke to the judge's team about the appeal. She said to check back next week. She said that she returned the physical therapy records on August 22. I don't have them. I might have to get a whole new set.
In spite of my husband's illness, he did a double set of PT yesterday; and he said he did quite well. It totally exhausted him though.
Thank you for your continued support, prayers and thoughts.

You have so much patience. I applaud you.
It would be nice if patients who share rooms with other patients were given the option of using headphones so they didn't bother others. Older folks seem to need to have the volume way up much of the time.

I hope he improves very soon. Coughing all the time is just exhausting.

It sounds like things are pretty hectic right now. I’m glad to hear your husband’s chest X-ray didn’t show pneumonia, but it’s frustrating when the details are unclear. Great to know he’s pushing through with his PT despite everything. Hang in there, and hopefully, you'll get more answers soon.

Perhaps it is bronchitis. Proud of him for doing so well on PT. I hope the coughing is helping clear his lungs.

Pleurisy? That’s not fluid IN the lungs, but in the lining AROUND the lungs. It feels like someone ramming a knife through your back every time you breathe (you can tell I’ve had it). I’m glad they’re working him, and I hope he’s less tired as he “gets used to it.”

Well, I sure hope he starts feeling better, As much as I am glad he is so determined with his PT I think at this time he should not take it so much, Blessings to you both,

Glad that he doesn't have pneumonia. If he needs to take antibiotics, maybe he has some infections. In any case, if he can still do PT, I think he will be fine.

Well of course, if he has something going on with his breathing, the PT will tire him out. I have "exercise-induced asthma" myself so can't talk when I'm doing something physical.

He has asthma too which is why I worry when he comes down with something respiratory.

I am going to be asking my doctor for a chest x-ray to figure out what this pain is in my chest.
Hope things are better with your husband.

@LindaOHio Thank you, Linda. Had the chest x-ray today. I was told I'd have the results in a "few days".

Those breathing treatments should definitely help with his congestion. The fact that he's doing double PT is a positive sign that he's getting stronger even if he's exhausted afterwards.
