A Funny UFO Story

I gazed at the pond when it was just getting quite dark. I saw something unusual. I was just under and on top of the water. I grabbed the binoculars and watched that thing for quite a while.
I turned around, and it was in the house. My roommate had left the phone on at her workstation. The main button was round and bright, and when I looked out, it seemed to float in the water.
I felt silly and disappointed.
Has something like that ever happened to you? Have you made laughable mistakes? Were they disappointing or embarrassing? Please share!

On a hike, I saw this big white bird flapping by this bush . . . I tried to take a photo of it. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a plastic grocery bag

I do remember seeing what I thought may have been a UFO flying the city of Lake Charles around midnight during the blackout period after Hurricane Laura passed over Lake Charles in late August. It is a shame that I did not have any recording camera to film what look liked to maybe a government object taking pictures of the damage in the backyard from the floods.

@LindaOHio If there are UFOs bringing intelligent beings, it is scary. They may not be our friends and they might not like us. There are enough scary people here on earth.

No.No such thing has ever happened with me.But I remember I would have beaten my elder brother badly.
Actually one night he came running to me and asked me to accompany him as he had seen someone in the room in front of my house.He thought it could be a thief.
We rushed into that room.It was night and the power was disconnected.
As we were searching there with torches;I saw someone trying to hide himself behind a old table.
I had a stick in my hand and I struck the figure.My stick hit the table and I heard my brother shouting;"What are you doing;stupid!! It is me."
I burst into laughter.
Had he not shouted;I would have beaten him.

Totally relatable! We've all had those moments where our minds play tricks on us. I remember once thinking a pile of clothes on a chair was a person in the dark. It was a bit embarrassing when I realized the "person" was just a hoodie and some pants.
