I'm thinking good enough

Thanks to Rufus dog I was able to go through the blood test procedure last Friday- yes, I wrote about this already. Today the tests showed up on the My Chart page. Breathe, lady, breathe. It appears that my blood sugar numbers are normal. Oh thank you, Buddha. My cholesterol numbers are a bit high. The numbers for inflammation are quite high: think arthritis then yell with me: DUH!!!!!
So I guess I will call the orthopedic Surgeon back tomorrow. What's the next step toward knee replacement surgery?? Hubby really and I mean really wants me to do this.
Yesterday I had my knee's butt kicked in Physical Therapy. My thigh muscles are supposed to bend and keep me moving. Tell them that for me, please.
Today I put in 30 minutes in the kiddo pool exercising. That water was this side of bathtub hot. Pure bliss. Felt good to move in that silky water. And I could tell that I am stronger than I was in July. Physical therapy is painful and so worth it. I go back to PT in the morning. No I am not looking forward to it. I will go back.

I went through serious knee issues about 7 years ago, and was told I was going to need knee replacement surgery as well, but am still too young for it. So they told me to try to live through the pain as much as I can until that day arrives when I can get them replaced. Thankfully, I started PT for my knees and legs, and it has worked wonders for me. I really don't have any knee pain at all right night, which is great. Unfortunately, I also go to PT for my back, and I think that is where all my pain is concentrated fright now.
I hope thet sooner, rather than later, you can get your new knees!

@sallypup I'm not going to lie, I cried many of the days I was in PT because they pushed me to what I thought was beyond my limits.

@moffittjc PT is hard. I get trembly from the effort. I dread the work coming up with the new knee- somehow I have to make the leg and knee bend or else it never will. I can't go through all the hell of surgery to just sit frozen somewhere.

@moffittjc I'm glad you went to PT. It's painful and hard but healthy.

The only steps I had before knee replacement surgery were to talk to the orthopedic surgeon, get my pre-op testing done and then show up for the surgery. Good luck. Just be sure to take every drop of PT that they prescribe. I didn't and now have mobility issues with my knee. Have a good day.

@LindaOhio Pre-op testing? Can you tell me more about that? I have been doing physical therapy since the first of July so yes there. I wish I could help you somehow.

@LindaOHio That doesn't sound too nasty. I called for another appointment with the Ortho Doc- he wants the ultrasound on the leg done before he will see me. I made an appointment for next month with him.

Warm water is great to help with pain, I agree. I know you don't want surgery, no one does. It does sound like it's a have-to, so please keep us posted about it all. You are moving forward, and not just saying no, I won't do it...I know surgery of any kind isn't easy.

Best of luck with your knee. I have a bum knee which with the rain we're having keeps kind of going out on me so when I stand up I do it very carefully to make sure I have a knee when taking a step,
