Crumpet Time

As the summer begins to fade, now is the time for hot, toasty crumpets and a good strong cup of tea. No idea what goes into a crumpet, but with a good spread of butter they are very tasty. a definite comfort food. Basically, crumpets are a butter delivery system. No surprises, I like to eat a giant crumpet in the afternoon, along with a nice cuppa for a relaxing moment.

If you want to cook, all sorts of recipes can be read online. But if you don´t, online will also help you ask for delivery. I haven´t baked in years.

I am a bit of a purist and mostly stick to butter, but sometimes I do melt some cheddar on top

On the right is a regular one and the left is the giant crumpet. Most important is lots of butter melted on!

You have crumpets and we have English muffins which are similar, They get toasted and buttered. You can even make them from scratch

I know you can get 'crumpet rings' to make your own at home. I thought English muffins were like regular muffins, but now I know!

They were most tasty! Have a confession, I don't butter as I find it tastes fatty, so I use an olive oil based margarine

these look like English muffins which I love! But I am afraid of the toaster so never get to eat them. I always wondered what a Crumpet looked like. I somehow thought it was more like a croissant
