It has been two weeks since my second cataract surgery

Actually two weeks and one day, it was performed Friday August 30th. (left eye)
Three weeks (and one day) since my first surgery (right eye).
And the difference is like between day and evening.
Or a sunny day and a cloudy day.
Of course I still need readers (glasses) for books/etc because I could not afford the out-of-pocket expense for lens implants that have multiple focal points, but I can see distances much better.
And I can read books again.

I spent 5 months unable to read books so yes, a huge difference.

@Scarred4Lyfe - It's hard not to be able to read, I am happy that it worked and you are back reading books now. I see the comment to Julia, how is Stephen King's new book? This is an author I like.

I would be lost if I couldn’t read books, glad that you can now.

I am happy for you that you can see a difference and enjoy reading again.
Those that I know that had the lens implant done, still needed readers eventually as that 'prescribed' lens doesn't change as their eyesight did. I know that my mother went from tri-focals to just readers, which were lighter for her and a bit of a relief, but otherwise she still had to have those glasses for reading.
Now I have to ask what good books have you read since the surgery?

I've been slowly working my way through one of Stephen King's new books 'You Like It Darker'.

Wouldn't Medicare cover lenses no?

Medicare does not cover multi-focal lenses, only monofocal.

Being able to read is a blessing. Some insurances pay for one set of corrective lenses after cataract surgery.

I'm glad you can see better. Have a good weekend.
When I first got my lenses I could see so much better. Now I can see my vision changing. My distance vision without my glasses isn't as good...nor is my close vision.
