Rehab Guys Mostly Lied to Me!

I had been drinking for over 15 years when a friend approached me and said i needed rehabilitation. I was drinking dangerously, he said. So, he offered to take me to his fwend, a rehab manager who'd take me in at half the payment. I parted with Kenya Shillings 100k (roughly USD 1000) and was in the rehab for three months. In there, underwent a lot of counselling and dietary realignments. There were also warnings that if i left and went back to drink, I would die in less than eignt months. Once the rehab period was over, I went back home, but not before visiting my favorite joint and gulping three or four 250 ml of my usual vodka. I continued drinking as though I never visited any rehab. My drinking, as before, todate is regulated by my ability and pattern of earning, not yearning. Been five years since i left the rehab, and i am still wondering if the counselors meant ' years' when they said 'months'. Rehab Guys Mostly Lied to Me!

Well, that's just a warning and that's a possibility if you continue doing just that.

They probably didn't lied to you, if you drink the way you were drinking before you would have serious health problems.

Well, I'm glad you're still alive but it's still a good idea ot monitor your drinking and not overdo it.

I would not say that they lied. They would have used that a warning to keep you away from drink. Or maybe your condition at that time would have indicated that. They would do all kinds of things ( fear, motivation etc) to make sure that the trick works and people stay away from the addiction.
