Generally in India Sunday is considered day for office holiday in government and private offices.sone private office also give Saturday off in addition to sunday.so weekend people relax their mind and make their body ready for work for whole week starting from Monday to Friday.

In malaysia we work 5 days a week, sun, mon tues, wed and thu. Fri and sat are off day Some companiesblaw require workers to work half say on sat

I suppose that is the same in most countries. Office working people look forward to Friday and the weekend - l know my son does.
