My latest toy

During Covid, when all charity shops were shut and we were supposed to be avoiding contact, people round here began to put unwanted items outside their gates so that passers-by, on their daily walks, could pick up any item of interest. Now many people continue to do that, and a few days ago I saw a selection of items outside someone’s gate and stopped to see what was on offer. I picked up a useful wire basket that I can use in the garden, and also this disc thing – I wasn’t too sure what it was but decided to take it home and have a look. Well as I suspected it is a little twisty platform intended for exercising. I’m not at all keen on exercise for its own sake, but if it’s something fun that’s a different matter, and twizzling about on this is actually quite entertaining. It also has the advantage that it doesn’t take up much space, unlike my other twisty toy the hula hoop, which is actually impossible to use indoors without bashing into the furniture. I was enjoying twirling around on this when my daughter told me I looked stupid – that, it seemed was to induce me to get off it so she could get on and have a go! Some days I can use the hula hoop ok, and others I just can't! But it's quite heavy and if I get it wrong it hurts!

My aunt use to have it back in the 80s to get slimmer ang have a beautiful body... hehehehe those where the days when people are seriously taking exercise to stay fit and sexy as well, but now people love to get slimmer. But now a days due to busy schedule and due to laziness they just want to get slim without exercising and without cutting down their food intake, they just drinka nd eat something to make them fit or try liposuction. I love the old days... when every morning my aunt do that to keep slim for her husband Lol! My older cousins use to do that also but not all the time.

Another toe-teaser! I love how your feet seem to match the circumference of the device. I’ve never seen such a thing. How does it work? I’ve never tried a hula hoop in years. I doubt I’d be able to do it now.

It feels like it is just rotating on ball bearings, pretty simple really.

Aren't they meant to help strengthen the knees and hips?

I don't know. I found a video showing various different exercises you could incorporate them into. So far I just enjoy twizzling around!

If it makes you feel like a kid again, I think it was a wonderful find. I would probably lose my balance and fall off of it more than being able to twirl on it.

I'm sure that disk is fun to use. I would probably fall off that thing and break my neck

I hear you about exercise for the sake of it but since Vince's operations we've been walking more. We might even get to like it.
