Many of us ran into Gmail when it started 20 years ago. Thought it was a good site. Ha! Every day I get a pile of crap. Yeah, send this to trash. that to spam, but it doesn't stop.
I warn everyone, if you don't have Gmail, don't get it. It is the worst possible site, as private as main street.

There's no alternative to gmail, sadly. That's cold emailing and marketing.

I think you can unsubscribe it. But anyway, I have a bad management when it comes to email! I am so lazy reading my emails.

I too had this problem. I kept pushing the unwanted mails to spam over a period of 2 months.I unsubscribed from services I no longer need or do not intend to use for a longer period of time. Slowly , things did get better. Also I put rules and strted moving mails to folders. It is now less cluttered and I do not look much as social and promotion sections. I clear those once in a while. Every service that is provided may not always be beneficial for us , especially when they give for free. We would have to be flexible and adjust things. There are other mail services as well that you could make use of and use for certain communication such as for jobs or particular online tasks. It has worked for some

Meanwhile some important emails go to the spam folder. I don't know if the competition is any better, but I think spammers are becoming smarter at bypassing filters.
