Got to watch my mouth today

Somebody come zip my lips, please!
I call the hospital imaging center- has my medical provider at last gotten that fax to you? If so, please tell me when I get to do an ultrasound on my leg?
Irritated answer: Yes to the fax. NO on specifics. Imaging says they don't have a clue on exactly what they are looking for so they won't do an ultrasound and can't.
I fired off a message to my medical provider asking them to clarify with the imaging center. Of course we don't know why my left leg is twice as big as my right. And yes that is what we are hoping to discover. How to get the medical provider to communicate in a meaningful way to the imaging center is beyond me. The knee surgeon refuses to go ahead until he gets the ultrasound. Of what? My patience is very thin to invisible when it comes to medics.

The medical communitiy at large brings out the witch (with a B) out in me, too. I know how it goes.

I was supposed to see the cardiologist this week, on a day that does not exist. I did not call them to discuss the error on the card, but my regular doctor says if I do not want to see a cardiologist, I do not have to.

What a pain, I see the medical staff communicates about as well as the mortgage and insurance providers in these parts. Maybe you could try getting an OMbudsman from the Area on Aging or APS.They were super helpful to LIndaO. Or your insurance company maybe be able to offer assistance.

@snowy22315 Good idea. I sent an email to my medical provider. If she doesn't do something in a couple of days I will call the surgeon.

I can only hope that you yell loud enough so that they listen to you.

I think I would need a muzzle too. My patience would be thin too. I hope they begin to communicate better. What are you going to do?

@sallypup ........Sounds like these are professionals you'll have to keep on to get things done for you. Are they just busy or incompetent?

@celticeagle Amazing but true: the nurse practictioner got back to me today!! She sent a better referral to the imaging folks. I will wait until Monday before I call again- if I haven't heard from them.

Maybe in this situation you don't need to watch your mouth, you need to get out of the way and let it roar! Whatever it takes to get the proper medical care you need.

Dealing with the medical community can be so frustrating sometimes. I hope they find out what's wrong with your leg. Sending prayers and healing thoughts. Have a good weekend.
