Mangoes are harvested not when the are fully ripe but when they get that pink hue We also depend on birds to lelt us know when it is time to harvest them. Birds start pecking at the mangoes when they are reay for harvesting. The basket of mangoes that you see in the image were harvested last year. No signs yet of mango flowers. They normally show up around November and by May they are ready for harvesting. What fruits do you have?

When I was living in the city we had a great variety of fruits in shops including pears. I liked the soft variety.

Mangoes are grown in our northernmost regions and trucked down to the city shops. Most people love them but I'm not a big fan.

@allknowing Here the common type is the white one but recent years the red ones become popular. I think this is because they are not so usual.

Those mangos in the picture really look good. We have lots of fruits here. My favorite are apple, oranges, bing cherries, peaches and pears.

I don't have any fruit at the moment, even if I have some, usually it's only bananas because mangoes aren't in season yet and the price is certainly more expensive when they're not in season.

This is plums, apples and grapes season. We are also getting mandarin oranges that are very good. Aldi had mangoes yesterday, but they did not look good.

Your country must be importing mangoes. I like guavas but what we get here are not what I have tasted when we were living in the city

@allknowing - The mangoes they had yesterday were imported from Israel. Big mangoes, but my feeling is that they were picked up too early, put in a refrigerator to keep them firm and transported. I had one last week they are dark inside.

If the mangoes are sweet they will not harm your throat.
