Test of My Patience

I don't want to fail this test. And so I'm sitting on a chair till my work is done in this bank! I have come with a foster daughter from our foster family to get a bank account made in her name. It would be a student account to receive government scholarships. The first table clerk helped us quick enough. He is a young man who knows me. In 20 minutes or so he sent us to the senior clerk next table , who was issuing pass books. The lady is perhaps the main officer through whom all accounts pass through. She was also updating pass books. We stood in the queue before her for half an hour. When we reached before her she told us to wait in the lounge. Lounge sounds to be a comfortable area but it's not so as the weather is humid and the fan overhead is in static mode. Just as I was typing the last two sentences the name Pratima Roy was called out. It was again the young man who had helped us in the beginning. He himself took the receipt to the payment enclosure and brought back the counterfolio. He gave it to the "Madam " who soon issued us the pass book in Pratima Roy's name. By that time we had spent about two hours in the bank. Whatever may have been the test, I'm glad to have got Pratima's passbook. By

Good for you. Banks and similar institutions really do try your patience at times.

I really do not like that. I sometimes complain if it does happen to me, especially if I am not in the mood.

Oh! That can be annoying. It is a real test of patience. Any reason for her to ask you to wait in lounge?
