Can you see more than clutter in the photo? That black object in the photo is a pipe wrench. It is heavy and solid. It reminds me of a blacksmith's anvil.
A couple of weeks ago I saw its handle sticking out from a very high bathroom shelf. I have been curious about what it was. I managed to hit it with a broom handle and could tell right off that I did not want to knock it down If it fell it could crack the toilet seat or even me and my toes.
Today the man who is making a shed for us helped me get it down so I could see what the mysterious black thing was. Its an old maybe steel pipe wrench. Made in the United States- the Billings company. Hubby wants to tuck it away in the shed. I kind of want it out where visitors can see it. I also don't want the chance of somebody hurting themselves with it or a cat knocking it off a cabinet etc. I love the heft of it. Yes, its still in good working order.

Alot of good it will do in the garage. My grampa had a great collection of old tools in his garage and the all burned when the garage burned down. That wrench would make for some good protection too. (A single woman thinking here i guess)

One whack with that and a burgular would be toast! I bet it weighs like 5 lbs at least.

@snowy22315 It has a solid feel when its held. Its not something you would want near your head for sure.
