Is lack of financial stability the number one cause of stress in adults?

Having sufficient earnings and resources to meet any financial demands is a blessing. But when you do not have the income/earnings or the resources, then it becomes a stress. Having financial security gives us the confidence and can focus on our focus areas and goals.
These days, whenever I speak to my dear and near ones all are speaking about rising expenses and financial stability. Most of them depend on a single source of income and that too in private companies. Gone are the days you can depend on the bank savings and a single income for a family.
I feel for most of the adults these days, lack of financial stability is the biggest concern. Believe it is their number stress as well. Rising costs to buy house, to take care of the family, job loss, stagnant income and the uncertainties lead most of us to stress. I have seen money has become the biggest point of tension within families and relationships.
I do have the financial stability stress and is one of my worrying points. However, I have started looking to multiple sources of incomes. I am yet to earn consistently and in good numbers. I have bought down my personal debt and looking to further bring it down, hopefully with budgeting and planning. I do have friends who feel trapped and feel they have no savings.
Do you feel a lack of financial stability the number one cause of stress in adults?

I am now retired after over forty years of working life.
I saved every year of my working life and have no pension as I was not a government employee.
I lived a comfortable life without sacrificing essentials.
If one is disciplined and practical, one can avoid stress from a lack of financial stability.

Yet often early on either we have financial blunders or mistakes or do things with too much caution.
And then often we have to do a catch up later on.

Having a house of own early on is a good move.
Risks always remain in the Stock Market.

People do not see the financial discipline as something easy. Many are interested in miracles or easy money. Thanks for sharing!

Rising costs of even the basic necessities like food and education, not to speak of buying a house is a major stress causing factor.
Personally I am also dealing with the same and making efforts to have multiple steady sources of income.
That however is not easy due to multiple factors.
One might hear a lot of blah blah about some people earning Millions on Social Media especially YT but on a larger scale, especially in Private Sector there are a lot of struggles.
Also one can take inspiration from somewhere but not everyone can succeed equally.
I think that watching people earning Millions on Social Media can also be a source of increased stress at times !
Even the single major earning jobs come with deadlines, Management expectations and even probable health issues.
I have seen people earning Millions but hardly having any time for enjoying what they earn.
It becomes worse when there is just one earning member in a family.
But well, we have to deal with this situation.
Best of wishes in your future endeavors !!

I do, and I really feel for those who have kids depending on them, or older parents. Taking care of just oneself is hard, but several people? I know a lot of the people I know are dealing with the rising costs of medical assistance. You can make cuts here and there, but medicine and seeing the doctor is necessary.

I think yes, unless if there is someone who can finance your daily needs without working on it I guess it will never be a problem. Without money we can't rent a house, buy food, pay the bills, etc., the biggest problem is when we get sick it will cost a lot of problem.
