Helene has made landfull late last night and is now out of here. However, afteraffects remain. Those on the West coast, my thoughts are with you. On my side of the coast, the sun is in and out and I can hear some wind still. All our windchimes appear to have stayed, one being loudest of them all.
George is outside, and felt adventerous enough to place one of our chairs in the sun and picked up a cushion that'd fallen off during last night's winds. I reminded him about his meds and he's apparently made his way in. I don't know how long he'd been out before I got up. I'm glad to see him active even by a little bit.

Yeah. I'm glad it's just wind now. Makes the 90-degree day barable.

@Kandae11 Well, we still have a few days before we know for sure. Oh, right. that's Joyice that's the next name on the list. It won't be named until it reaches tropical storm status, but we can look up the names ahead of time because the national hurricane center posts a list every year.

@kaylachan This one isn't Issac. He has been there for awhile somewhere to the North. This one has no name as yet.

I am happy that you survived that terrible storm.
We had windy conditions up here today, no doubt from the same storm, and will probably have more tomorrow, but at least there aren't alligators, snakes or boats washing up on our yards.
And we will only get light rain out of the deal too, thankfully.
Our big storms come in January and February, our turn is yet to come.

Based on where it is, and if Canada is accurate as to where you're living, it's highly unlikely the two are related. But, everyone has their time for storms.

@kaylachan No, it is tracking north and although we are not going to feel the brunt of it as we are more inland, we will get the winds and some drizzle caused by the storm moving up this way.

Glad to hear that George is up and about and catching those sun rays, I am so mad do you know I live above 4 strapping grown men my late best friend's husband Nick, and his three sons. While all the stuff was going on and things they were writing do you think any one of them came up to see if I was all right? Nada. Now I have to pull myself together things like this take a lot out of me. Of course, we can be thankful it went so well for us and I am putting others in my prayers. Now as they say upwards and onwards. Oh, yes, as it always is to add insult to injury being Friday it was my blogging day, Do you think WordPress could have made this day easy for me? Nada,

No. I suppose not. I'm just glad you're okay and here to vent. Did you see much flooding?

@kaylachan one large puddle along the side of our small side street that resembled a lake, It is slowly drying up, It made me smile because I remembered in my childhood in the summer when we were out in the Catskills after heavy rain I would be in a puddle like that floating plastic boats,

The cold typically cancels out storms as they often perfer warmer environments.

We have rain and really wild winds, we are under a wind warning. That hurricane had a huge span.
My daughter's family in St. Pete still has no power and they are running on their generator. But other than big tree limbs down and being somewhat marooned, they are fine, I am thankful. I am glad the hurricane didn't hit you hard.

I am proud of myself that I thought to bring in our recycle bin. I also didn't put anything out last night for Friday pickup. Tropical storm force winds can still do some damage, so small projectiles still need to be brought inside. O ther then that everything seems fine. We have a palm frawn in the yard.
I am glad that your family is powerless but fine. My husband was from St. Pete Beach, so it hits home. I hope you and your son stay safe and you don't live in a possible flood zone.

We’re safe. They did warn us that the power could go down, but that’s not surprising.
St Pete is a nice place to visit and I do love the area, but oh, those summer days are so, so hot!

Who is George?
I am glad that you are all fine there, it is okay to lose a house but not a family member. There is no words to comfort those victims, but let's all pray for them, and may this incident come to past so quickly.

Good to see Helene is out from your area. Believe the winds are bearable and seeing the Sun is a good thing. Winds can at times become powerful and dangrous especially with tropical storms and hurricances. Heard there is probability of seeing another one , perhaps following the same route as Helene. I hope the damages are less compared to earlier ones. Good t read about you and George. Enjoy the weekend!
