Good afternoon!
@MarieCoyle suggested sandwich rollups to use up tortillas.
here is how I made mine:
I a bit of mayonnaise on the tortilla and added turkey deli meat and shredded lettuce, I diced a slice of tomato, added some pickles, shredded cheddar cheese, and diced onion.
then I microwaved it for 8 seconds to get the cheese warm
it was scrumptious! Thank you, Marie!
speaking of cooking, I am getting serious about cooking as I woke up this morning worrying about my cholesterol. it is usually extremely low with a medicine for it but that was back before I started having Walmart deliver. before I had food delivered I was barely eating. that was up until some time this year before i started to eat again
both my parents had high cholesterol and did nothing about it. They didn't die of it but both died in their early 70s. I decided I had to eat more than the cooked Angus cheeseburgers I eat almost nightly from Walmart. I am petrified of dying
I will be on my way as soon as I learn how to put the oven on. when my peer teaches me I will take notes so I don't forget
What did you have for lunch and was it delicious?

Jennifer, you will discover that you can roll up almost anything you like in a tortilla wrap. When my kids were in college, they made all kinds of wraps. My oldest son still likes them a lot and his two sons make them often. They make pizza wraps, using pizza sauce, pepperoni or ham or cooked ground meat or chicken, mozzarella, etc. They love getting inventive with wraps! Glad you tried it, and no, you don’t want to eat the same things every day. Change it up and try different things, if it’s something you like, it can usually work out fine in a wrap!

Oh, my littlest grands love their turkey hot dogs, split with some cheese inside, wrapped in a shell. They dip them in ketchup and mustard.

when I cooked casseroles back in the day, I sometimes ate the same casserole three or four days in a row until I was done with it. but I would perhaps like a little variety in my food
I didn't think one could make other things into a tortilla wrap. your sons sound like good cooks with the pizza wraps! I don't get pizza often so would love to make them. I will have to order some pizza sauce and pepperoni and whatever else I can think of that would make a wrap.
I have hot dogs in the freezer that I don't want to waste but always forget to buy hot dog buns. I bet I can cut one in half and add cheese ketchup and onions if they are still good. they look good today as I put some on my turkey wrap-up
I will try to think of other ways to get creative and make wraps!

@MarieCoyle I never thought to split the hot dog to put cheese. I like that idea. I will see when I make them if I want to dip them in ketchup or put the ketchup on the top.
I have some food to eat then I will probably defrost the hot dogs.

Sounds like a delicious sandwich, I made myself food to last for the weekend, I put seasoned fries, chicken thighs, and some diced tomatoes with bouillon in my slow cooker, It came out great and the potatoes made like a thick gravy, Now I just heat and eat,

Thank you for sharing an idea for such a good recipe!

my mom loved to make pork roasts and have pork sandwiches with mustard.
I had shredded pork with barbecue sauce as a sandwich this past week but I didn't make it. My sister saved me some from a party she had for my family that she had catered and then froze in serving-sized bags
. the catering place she uses makes good pork. She has gotten it from them in the past and always shares the extra with me. she shares all extra food with me

@JudyEv May I ask what chutney is? what is it made of? I have heard of it, but I never knew what it was do you put it on other types of sandwiches? Mustard is also good on a meatloaf sandwich

That sounds delicious! I didn't know Walmart had grilled cheese sandwiches. I have been buying their premade food but have never seen them. When I finish what I got from Walmart yesterday I may try to make my own grilled cheese. Mine always fall apart when I flip them over and are too hot to put them back together before they get done. but I am willing to try!

@LovesEverybody They're in the freezer section. I'm not sure what the brand is but they weren't bad. Good for a quick lunch. One was grilled cheese and one was grilled cheese with ground beef.

Interesting to read about your lunch and thoughts around them . I had white rice with sauce. Not much though as I was busy with my works. I ordered the food online and it was delivered to me. It was good .Cannot say superb but good. Perhaps , it is because I could not enjoy much as I was thinking about the tasks and activities , basically overwhelemed with set of things to do. So , could not enjoy as much as I would loved to. Good to see you are taking serious of your health and thats something not everyone does. Keep going and enjoy the weekend!

Yes, sometimes those places that deliver are good but not the greatest food a person has ever had. I have looked at those places and they increase the prices dramatically. I am not paying what some of those places cost for food that should only be a couple of dollars!
what kind of sauce did you get with your white rice?
there are times when I am overwhelmed by life itself but I am learning to handle it
hope you are having a great weekend!

That is great! Protein is important. the last time I saw my primary care doctor, he suggested I eat more protein. He suggested yogurt, Greek in particular, I tried it but it was not my cup of tea. So I have been eating more Yoplait yogurt. I can get them for a somewhat reasonable price at Walmart as compared to my local grocery store where they are 99 cents each. I would sometimes buy one or two at that store as a treat. i try to have one every day for breakfast and sometimes as a snack from Walmart.
I never thought of having a protein shake. I will do some research on them. Thank you!

I thought it was a good choice too! I thought of adding Italian dressing but was afraid it would be too much liquid
My sister called a little while and she sounded so happy when I told her what I had!
your lunch sounds delicious! I don't know what kind of pickles I used but I love pickles! there used to be a brand of pickle that we don't remember the name but it was a Polish brand. they had the best pickles but it has been decades since we can find them.
I stopped eating chipped ham some time ago since I can tell it is fatty because one's fingers get fat on it while touching it.
I may finish my bread and hamburger buns and start to use soft tortilla shells. I have to look into it but I think bread causes diabetes. I don't have a family history but my sister has it and who knows? She is the only family member my parents and grandparents can think of whoever had it. but i don't want to be the second
Have a super weekend!

Thank you! I may make another one today as I have many tortillas and I bought 3/4 pound turkey deli meat. I might add a tiny bit of Italian dressing this time. I think I have some in the pantry and then I can use it on the salad I planned on making with the lettuce I bought on Thursday.
this was fun inventing this and I am already having fun thinking of all I can cook! I am going to look up lazy lasagna today as over the years I lost the recipe. It is so easy, even I can do it alone!
